Mel39 Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 News Travel Information: Nudist Flights Take Off 01/02/2008 Nudists can now start their holidays early by stripping off on the plane with a hot new venture by a German travel company. Travel agency OssiUrlaub.de will start taking bookings from today for a trial nudist day trip. Flying from the eastern German town of Erfurt to the popular Baltic Sea resort of Usedom, D-Day is planned for 5th July and will cost €499. Enrico Hess, Managing Director, says the higher cost is due to the small size of the plane, and that there’s no reason nudists flights should be more expensive than any other in the future. The 55 passengers will have to remain clothed until they board, and get dressed again before disembarking, while the crew will remain clothed throughout the flight for safety reasons. The idea came from a customer who spotted an unusual gap in the market. Naturism is extremely popular in Germany, possibly because it was previously banned by the Nazis. There are even nudist hotels, restaurants and shops. Which is why Hess is adamant that the flights are perfectly normal. 'I don't want people to get the wrong idea. It's not that we're starting a swinger club in mid-air or something like that,' he told Reuters. Visit www.ossiurlaub.de
tigger Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 » ...and will cost €499. I guess with the reduced wardrobe expenses and all, this might be ok, but it seems kinda pricey to me. :-P

jasonM Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Most pictures I've seen, these naturists are of....mature variety, with a physique that was prime during Beatlemania. I have horror pictures in my mind of a turbulent flight....
