yossie Posted January 27, 2008 Author Posted January 27, 2008 » Tough question ... I have been smoking cigars since July. First 3 months I » bought NC (am in USA) - then had my first cuban (and discovered FOH) in » around August. Since then ... have 16 boxes in my home humidor, another 10 » in FOH (shhh - dont tell the wife). So thats hmm 625 or so. » » There are about 10 boxes of others I would love to have in my collection » (buy at 1 per month else the wife will divorce me) - so takes me to 900. » (Plus abot 100 NCs which are the ones I offer to guests, give away). Yep » -- I figure about 1000 .. Buying is very easy. just tell what you want to Lisa. Smoking is not so. Even if you smoke 3 sticks per a day, You have to continue to smoke about a year. and to do this, You have to have perfect body. Because If you got cold, You couldn't smoke it At last, We can not drop love of possession out untill we die. Yes, Your stock continues to increase til the day... horrible:-P
wp2 Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Just as my wife says "you can never have too many pairs of shoes," so it is for cigars as well.

Nice line, I'm gonna parrot it back to my wife when she asks me why I'm stockpiling cigars. I'm sure I will get a dirty look, but she will not say anything back. Hmmm, on the other hand, "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned," comes to mind.
Ken Gargett Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 very simple. more of the great sticks, less of the terrible ones. »
Thomas Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I just try to keep a couple boxes of something decent on hand all the time, most of the sticks I purchase are ready to smoke right out of the box these days and finacially and practically there is no need to stock up thousands of cigars. I smoke 5 to 10 a week and really need to cut back, but if you have to many just send em along to me!
yossie Posted January 28, 2008 Author Posted January 28, 2008 » but if you have to many just send em along to me! What I meant terrible is a NC though?

Sorry for my poor English and what I was drunk:-P . Well, What I recently think terrible is a Non-Cuban cigar called Camacho SLR. If you wanna smoke it , I can send it though , I guess you maybe live in US (You can easily get it there) and don't wanna pay shipping fee for it.
El Presidente Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 We pondered this not long ago when the local crew got together. How much money do you need to retire on and how many cigars do you need? Assumption: Retire 55 Conclusion: Enough Money to be debt free + medical insurance. Enough Money to fly Business class and travel twice per year. Enough Money to leave a little to your kids. Enough Money to drink good wine (7 bottles a week). Enough Money to purchase 25 boxes of cigars per year. When we added it up you we needed to retire on $70,000 net income per year (assuming debt free and no dependants) with about $1.75 Million in the bank/stocks/properties excluding principal place of residence. It was at this time that I decided not to raise the subject again
Loki Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 My friends and I were pondering this just last week over a couple of beers. 55 was also the number we ageed upon, young enough and hopefully healthy enough to still enjoy all that life has to offer. My local uses years of service and age to determine retirement and full collection of pension. The magic number is 85. So 55 years old and 30 years of service gets you there with medical benefits. We can also draw from our annuity fund. Thats not including any personal wealth. At 55 years old I'll have 35 years service, 5 more years than I need but I'll have to see how things shake out. BTW union electrician.
