I have mixed views on these. They can be anything from fantastic to mediocre. I had good experiences with a box from 04 I smoked in 05 as these were great fresh. In 2006 I had a 3x5 box that seemed very bland.

Has anyone had any recent experiences with 2006 or 2007 stock that they'd like to share? [edit - noted Rob's review: http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/board_entr...ect&descasc=ASC ]

Also, do these really need to be smoked young? (Or perhaps this is just in my limited experience).

I have a box from 06 and 07. But they dont last long for me. Seems I cant keep em around for longer than 2 months. Tasty little buggers

Graeme they ae getting better. Late 06/07 production was perhaps the best.

They were bloody awful papery wish wash crap when released. They appear to be now fuller in body with some complexity. Not a huge fam of the size but I have enjoyed the last few I have smoked.

Sounds very similar to that volado mareva :-D

I've had some great experiences with these and a few duds.

Majority have thankfully been the great experiences. Original release ('04) have been great little sticks. Excellent construction, flavor and loads of chewy smoke.

'05's aren't as good and '06's are just too young for my taste. They're brash and tannic. These vitolas IMO are not meant to be smoked young. 12 months would do these good.
