Jimmy2 Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Nice review Prez and nice Ponderosa . Are those Magic Mushrooms next to Cohiba Prez in the pic?
Sandman Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Thanks for reviewing this great cigar. I have only smoked one so far, but was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful flavor and complexity of such a young cigar. I agree that these will be great.
El Presidente Posted January 8, 2008 Author Posted January 8, 2008 » Nice review Prez and nice Ponderosa . » » Are those Magic Mushrooms next to Cohiba Prez in the pic? "Rumour" has it that dried, ground and small doses mixed with sweet spices and honey in a "drink" is the way to go. I don't bother. Too many toads to lick to go to all that trouble.

tapewormboy Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Thanks for the review and pics. How do the PL Magnificos and PL Robustos compare now and in regards to aging potential?
sje Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 » Thanks for the review and pics. » » How do the PL Magnificos and PL Robustos compare now and in regards to » aging potential? i recieved my 10 box from the uk (13 sticks in total) they look and feel stunning, after a few months rest from their long journey i will let you all know my thoughts. the general concensus is these will turn into classics, i suspect these are still within their sick period. the bands look even better in real life even than these photos, clean gold and polished copper they look a treat. great review thanks prez
El Presidente Posted January 8, 2008 Author Posted January 8, 2008 They are both true to the Por Larranaga marque in terms of flavour. They are both way too young to smoke. We are talking years 3-5 minimum before they provide a true glimpse into the kaleidescope of flavours I believe they posess. I have only smoked one PL Magnificos and 6-7 PL Robusto. Initial Impressions is that the PL Robusto is slightly fuller in body. Recent PL Robusto's I have tried after extensive drying have been excellent richly flavoured if still not overly complex. So much more to come out of these. Both will be a classic. Both share more similarities than differences.
Ken Gargett Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Thankfully, the kids and wife were inside » so it was really only me and Cohiba. is that cohiba mark II? i thought you ran over him while drunk (you, not cohiba) or has someone been spreading rumours about you?

He is the 6 Million dollar Dog Yes...my wife ran over him when he was 3 months of age. Countless operations to repair smashed pelvis, two broken hind legs + amputation of toe a few months ago. Good news is that I have trained him to limp everytime I am in the bad books with the wife ;-)
Mike33 Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Great review Rob! I broke down and got a 10ct. box of the magnificos. They truly are gorgeous cigars and I don't plan on smoking one for a minimum of 3 years.

TexaSmoke Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Nice Review Ron...I've been really wanting to smoke this, but not willing to spend the money on them yet.

greenpimp Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Nice review. I am considering some of these. Was the cow eating the mushrooms?
Quint Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Nice review Rob, Great looking stick and nice digs you have there. Looks like a beautiful place to relax and have a smoke
Hugomarink Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Excellent review! I managed to get a handful of those Magnificos recently. While it is so tempting to try one now I just can't bring myself to do it. They will sit ... and sit ... until their time comes. I look forward to that day.

I've let my Magnificos rest. For the premium they go for I want to make sure they are well rested before giving them a try.
Ziggy Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Excellent review Rob and you have a beautiful place. Question, is that a snake by the pool? Zig
BlackFriar Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 » Excellent review Rob and you have a beautiful place. » Question, is that a snake by the pool? » » Zig Wow Zig, never really noticed that in the photo, sure looks like a snake. Either that or Cohiba is a really gifted and bad, bad dog. Whatcha feeding the poor guy Rob? :-P Chris
