I'll never be able to choke down another

coffee shop espresso!

You just kicked it up a notch by buying that machine........when you start roasting your own beans you'll honestly very seldom be able to buy another satisfying shot outside your house. I'm roasting a batch of Moka Kadir as we speak. Check out sweetmarias.com

We've talked about that! Right now I'm settling for beans I can get fresh. We're fortunate enough to have good roasters around town.

Colt, we also bought a new burr grinder, an Isomac Gran Macinino. The coffee that comes out it almost as fine as talc. I've never seen anything like it.

Mel - LOL! That's funny stuff.

Thats my problem, I don't know of a roaster within 200 miles of where I live. Roasting is an awesome experience, we usually have a glass of wine sometimes a cigar while roasting. The smells coming out of a roaster are incredible!

I have a Cimbali Jr grinder. Half the battle is having a good grinder set up properly.

You're a very lucky guy Wiley. I don't think I will ever get to the stage where I could afford, be gifted or even appreciate such a wonderful machine.

I wish you well in the use of it.

» Very nice Wilkey and Mel i have the same one and i love it.

That's great to know Jimmy. I don't feel so inferior now. It certainly saves a lot of hassle and once I learn to appreciate the coffee more, I will go for an upgrade. I don't think I will ever get to roasting and grinding my own beans though although the aroma must be incredible.

Talk about wake up and smell the coffee eh?

Here's what my wife and I gave each other for Christmas:

(A Vibiemme Manuale.)

It's glorious... and shiny! I'll never be able to choke down another coffee shop espresso! (unless it's on vacation in Italy.)

Being a Brit I was brought up on tea.

To add to my new cigar smoking habit, I thought it was time to make the changeover and get myself a coffee maker.

Cost all of US$120

Well what did you expect?

Look I live alone and there's no preparation or cleaning up afterwards as the coffee comes in "pods" plus I am an Englishman goddamit.

My palate for coffee is the same as for cigars , -20 but I am trying. At least I will know what lousy esptresso tastes like:-D
