Re-release of Reagional Editions - Box Numbering.

Rob, probabily one for you.

Regarding RE's.............when first released they have numbered boxes eg: 152/1200.

What do they do when the cigar is re-released next year. How are they numbered or distinguished (other than date codes) from the initial release?

Also, regarding quantities. Is the second release exactly the same number of cigars and ratio of slb25 & slb50's (if applicable)?

Trevor, why did you remove the 2004 Bolivar Gold Medal RE from Germany? Was that a mistake, or is it not really part of the RE program?

The punch robusto for Switzerland has been released yesterday, i'll get a box today.

I had a brief conversation with a representative of Habanos SA while in Brussels recently. He confirmed that the Obus was going to be "re-released" in France. I guess now or very soon. We did not mention the Libertador so I don't know if there will be fresh issues of it or not. Don't know if re-released is the right term here because it is still within their two year time frame and within the original country.

Yes, time frame is 2 years, so calling it a re-release is BS. A second batch of Obus arrived in France last week. I heard more Libs are on the way.

I think Trevor is confused. The Punch being re-released is the Swiss ER from 2005. Got this email from LCH Geneva: "We are pleased to inform you that the Punch Robusto (50 x 124) re-edition of the 2005 Swiss Regional Edition has arrived.

Only 1200 boxes numbered from 1 to 1200 have been made by Habanos SA. The price is CHF400 (~347$ resp. ~241 Euro) per box."

I have the second release cab of Punch Superfinos RE Italy. The original release was 2005, the second release 2007, and the numbering starts over. My cab is 035/200.

That would be on the sheet that you gave me (well Lisa did) when I dropped in earlier this year. (well.....ok.....we were drinking).

From PCC, New Launching dates for 2007, in a section headed "Re-production of Regional Edition 2006". Lists both the Punch Super Robustos & Ramon Allones Estupendos.

The re-releases were removed from the Regional Edition list for a reason. On the detailed information for each RE, re-releases are indicated there within the date released section.

I have been getting some good information from a serious Hong Kong collector (with good contacts in PCC & Habanos sa) on the RE series.

From this it was decided to remove re-releases from the list. This is due to limited information on "re-releases" and as pointed out by others....when is a re-release not a re-release....is it old stock still being sold, is it stock produced over 2 years, etc. This is why I asked questions about box numbering. The final decision relates to the cigar itself. A re-release is not a new cigar.

The 2004 Bolivar Gold Medal is still on the site but not as a regional release. I had originally showed it as "probably the cigar that initiated the RE series.

Correct, you're not confused, I'm just ignorant! Didnt know they "re-produced" the Asia Pacifico ERs. That's good!

This reminds me. A vendor out of Mexico recently visited Cuba and came back with a bundle of Estupendos that were recently rolled. I had wondered about that, but never really put a whole lot of thought into it. Now it seems to be making sense.
