I feel embarrassed now. When it was given to me, I had no idea what it was and had to ask. I thought it rather useless because I always opened boxes with my finger nail as it was only the seal that needed breaking. I guess the majority of us only come across already opened boxes.

I now see how they would be useful to a trader. To me it is a memento of my pleasant stay in Eastern Cuba.

can't help you on the keyring but brings to mind a weird and wonderful gadget that I was given at the LCDH in Guadalavaca, Cuba.

It is a cigar box opener!

One end has a lip that you slide under the lid to open the box. There is a notch for prising the nail out and at the other end is a hammer to bang the nail back in!
