Questions on Cabs

I don't know if this has been covered but I have 2 questions? What are the pros/cons of purchasing a cab vs a 25 count box? And what is the best available cab out there that is ideal for long term aging(10 year+)? I already have a cab of PLPC so no need to mention those. I am thinking of either a cab of RASS, ERdM Choix, SLR Regios, or RyJ Ex #4. Right now the RASS is in the lead. Thoughts?

Never smoked an aged RASS but have heard great things about them. Have an 06 cab resting for the long haul.

That's a very good suggestion, but I have a GREAT one:

A 50 cab of early 2007 Saint Luis Rey Doble Coronas! In ten years, or less, you will have something that will be the envy of all your friends.

this is almost as bad as agreeing with rob but i must say that shrink is 100% spot on. cannot go wrong. i'd definitely go SLR DC's. thy may seem exy now but in ten years, will look spectacular bargains.

also, a good cab of partagas lusi with age is a thing of beauty.

The two cab's I bought in the last year specifically for long term are the 06 RASS and 07 SLR DC. The only other one I would consider myself would be the 07 Lusitania

I'd say the pros are that you get twice as many cigars. Other than storage space or cost,

what could be the cons? :-)

Theory is that cabs provide a better aging environment. I buy this.

Another hypothesis I've read is that cigars "in the round" might burn/draw better than those which are box pressed. IMO, there's not much validity to this.

Speaking of the Mag 46 , I do have a Nov 06 Cab that has been sitting for months that I have not tried yet. How are the late 06 been smoking?

I haven't tried the 07 Jaun Lopez #2s, but the 06s were very good.

Get a cab of JL2s.

There is something beautiful about peeking into that cab and seeing the cigars nicely packed in that big artful roll.

RJ Exhibicion #4--I can't speak to the recent ones but I have 99s that are exceptional

My thoughts EXACTLY.

I've got two.....one for smoking over the next 36mo and the other in deep storage for long haul

I don't get to enjoy a DC that often so I'm expecting to hold-on to at least one full cab for 7-10 years.
