habanablue Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 cutting edge stuff prez, looking forward to your findings!
Sandman Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 What an awesome experiment. I can't wait to find out the results. On a side note I was smoking an 06 Sig II the other night that actually tasted better with the wrapper removed, than with the wrapper on. It settled the cigar down and became way more approachable.
Ginseng Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Very cool. Rob. I look forward to hearing how this turns out. BTW, what is that stuff in the white tub to the roller's right elbow? Now that I think of it, the non-modified cigars (native wrappers) ideally should have had their wrappers removed and then replaced back on. This would rule out any possible effects of the remoistening, reapplication, and re-equilibrating sequence. Wilkey
habanohal Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Prez, if you need a subjective tester, I will let you send them my way. Can sort of call the "Custom " rolled Cohibas
asmith Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 » While our roller was here I asked him to change the wrappers They are some high quality counterfeit cigars there Rob. I have a couple of cigars with torn wrappers any chance of borrowing the roller for a couple of hours just to update my collection? Please Please..

I will re-post those reviews when we do the comparison.
happy1 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Can't wait to hear the reviews!Damn bet they are going to be good though
tigger Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Very cool stuff Rob! I look forward to reading the results.
56Tweed Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Great idea! I'm especially interested in the difference with those maduro wrappers.
brian1 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Brilliant idea. Cant wait to hear the results. My own opinion is that the wrapper imparts a huge amount to the flavor more than most realize. It will be very interesting to see the results.
El Presidente Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 While our roller was here I asked him to change the wrappers on Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios and Cohiba Robusto Light and Dark wrappered Monte 2's from same box (part one tasting already completed and posted). Cohiba Siglo VI and Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios. The aim of the exercise s to determine the difference a wrapper imparts to the flavour of the cigar. It will take a week or so for the wrappers to dry out but once they do to my satisfaction I will start the testing.
