Ginseng Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Gosh that's a beautiful cigar. Looks as dark as the 06 PLPCs I've seen. Wilkey
El Presidente Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 » When does shipping Commence??? Started ;-)
brian1 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Ken and Rob Can you please compare this to the PL Lonsdale german release if you can or if not how does this Robusto stack up against the PLPC. Thanks
56Tweed Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Sounds great! I'll put them down for a long nap and revisit in 10 years. :-P
brian1 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Ken Are the wrappers as dark and oily as they look in the photos? Sometimes the camera can play tricks. Thanks
Ginseng Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 » Ken » » Are the wrappers as dark and oily as they look in the photos? Sometimes » the camera can play tricks. » » Thanks Good point. I've found that photographing a dark subject against a light background sometimes results in a darker than expected image because matrix metering will set the exposure so that the light areas do not blow out. I've had excellent results shooting cigars against a light to medium brown backing. Wilkey
Mel Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Rob when you say smoke one now, another in thirty days and the another July 08 you are talking boxes right?;-) What are the chances I will smoke only two in six months????? If I like them I will order two more boxes stat.

Loki Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 When reviews such as this one are posted, there should be a warning in the subject line. Such as "Post may cause uncontrolable drooling". I have to go and change my shirt. I can't wait untill mine arrive.
bassman Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Wow! Great review. Looking forward to these.
Moglman Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I am also awed by the way they look and the agreed upon potential. Waiting patiently... Thanks Rob and Ken and Lisa!
Ken Gargett Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 » Ken » » Are the wrappers as dark and oily as they look in the photos? Sometimes » the camera can play tricks. » » Thanks brian, think the photos are spot on. as for the german lonsdale, sadly i am not in a position to comment. as for PLPC's, i love them but these are a step up. mel, why on earth would you look to rob or myself for self control. that said, my box is off to deep storage, where i cannot suddenly get overexcited and plunder it.
brian1 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Rob, Isnt 6000 boxes a huge release?? I seem to remeber the RA Estupendos being much smaller release and these are still available. Do you know why PCC have produced such a large number of these?
El Presidente Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 » Rob, » » Isnt 6000 boxes a huge release?? I seem to remeber the RA Estupendos being » much smaller release and these are still available. Do you know why PCC » have produced such a large number of these? Brian. Couple of points. 1. There were two Regional releases last year ...this year only one. In the end roughly the same number of cigars. 2. Only about 10% of Cigar lovers smoke Churchills in this part of the world and only 3% of those smoke them regulalry. 90% + will smoke a robusto. 3. Can't comment on the German PL Lonsdale. I don't even really like to comment on the PL Robusto. Very wet and still very good = very scary potential. The photo's are an accurate representation of the wrapper.
Claudius Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Wow, sounds like we have a real winner! :-) Emailing Rob... :-D
DH01 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Great review. you guys have me salivating over these but my funds are tied up for the holidays. hopefully they are still available in the new year. Rob, do you think these will be available in singles and when? thanks
Ginseng Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 » Rob, do you think these will be available in singles and when? thanks I think he said maybe March of 2008 on singles. He also stated the supply would be ample. Wilkey
