adamg Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 Now I love Reyes & Coloniales but.................... for the price the RE is not at the same level. Just sat down after a bottle of good Bordeaux and sparked a RE up - disappointed to say the least! Where is the espresso/chocolate flavors I get from the Reyes? Construction & draw excellent but where is the FLAVOUR?

The initial release showed promise but I have had too many insipid examples to rate this as a good cigar. This is one blend that they need to tweak in order to transform it from a good to great cigar.
smokum Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 Wow..I thoght it was just me ! I have not smoked a good one yet. I would rather smoke a rolled up newspaper. Prez whats the chance of these dog rockets ever coming around ?

I still have 3 boxes that will hopefully get better with time (05) This is my 2nd biggest disapointment with the Cohiba Siglo 6 as the 1st. Thats why I am very weary of the Ingenios ELs. If they are flavor bombs like the Reyes , then I will go for them

Prez whats the chance of these dog » rockets ever coming around ? Bob I am not sure. I have serious doubts that they will evolve into a great cigar as I can't see anything in the base flavour or body which excites me. There is precious little depth or complexity. There is no nuance that I can hang my hat on in hope. I could be completely wrong and I hope that I am. If say the 2004/2005 Trinidad Robusto Extra show no development by 2010 I will sell off my private stocks.

This is the first time to smoke this vitola for me. I guess It's a good cigar but doesn't have complexity so far. (It's like coffee with too much milk. It means weak taste) I can enjoy the rest of the box from 2006 though, I also think that It was too expensive for this taste. I beleive I purchased it at about 200 Euro.

I have the initial release and they were under illed and nothing like I would have hoped for. This is one of those boxes I have fully regretted.

Guest Robusto 107 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 (It's like coffee with too much milk. It means weak taste) GOOD DESCRIPTION. This cigar is my most disappointment.
Hugomarink Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Wow, I was considering trying some of these. Good to see this thread. Sounds like I can safely take these off my "must try" list and spend my money on more worthy smokes.

I have yet to try one and I don't think I will based on what others have had to say, but for Trinidads I always go back to the original....Fundadores
