Most of my current stock is Partagas or Bolivar..and for good reason!!

I do enjoy the Corona Gorda size and am looking to add a little variety. Assuming I do age them what would be the better choice? I have tried neither.

Thanks in advance!

Personally, I'd go with the Punch. I've been smoking SLR As from an '02 box, and while they have

nice depth of body, I find them somewhat lacking in flavor (yes I should have heeded your advice Maximus).

There are members who enjoy them more than I do.

I've tried one Punch RS 11 from an '06 box, and while still wild and untamed, these have all the

makings of a fantastic cigar.

If possible, maybe try a handful of each?

I'll give my vote to the SLR Series A! Just soooo tasty! The Punch sure is a stronger, in-the-face cigar, but the SLR is a far nobler beast. And COJ, maybe I'll make you change your mind next time we smoke... ;-)

I would recommend Upmann and Cohiba and then Trinidad and Punch in general regardless of vitola.

There are other excellent brands. You have an enjoyable task, my brother!

I'm all for being ignoble, so no worries here!

Like you I'm well stocked with Partagas and Bolivar, but also with Punch cigars. I urge you to go for the Super Seleccion No.1 if you want to try that brand. The 03's never fail me and are up there with the Series A in my book.

Big fan of the Serie A here. Been smoking 03s for a couple years & haven't had a bad one. The RS11 is just too tannic for my taste. A corona gorda rarely mentioned is the RyJ EX#3. The 06 is excellent if you like a spicy cigar.

i vote for Punch.

the 06's are superb.

i have only smoked a few SLR A's (from the czar) and honestly it is the only cigar i have ever disliked with a passion.... they all tasted metallic , and left a bad taste in my mouth for a whole day that i could not get rid of - seriously. just my experience .... your results may differ. :-)

bassman is right, here. These are really strong and spicy. Kind of like a classier Cazadores. A bit much at this age, but they should age magnificently.

There are few cigars as good as a great SLR Serie A. Yet, this is one cigar where finding a "great" example can be a true test of patience. Many times I have reached for a Serie A with great anticipation only to find a souless cigar. Then again I have been to heaven and back with many. Aroma at cold is the only way I have narrowed down the wheat from the chaff and this is no exact science.

The Punch Royal Seleccion No 11 is a prince among Corona Gorda. Complex, good body and very very consistent.

Both cigars benefit from a ageing. If it was me I would go

Six SLR Serie A

Six Punch Royal Seleccion No 11

Six Juan Lopez Seleccion No 1

Six R&J Exhibicion No 3

One Cohiba Siglo IV

You can always get a box later and what a wonderful way to explore the vitola given that you are already familiar with Bolivar and Partagas.
