cls515 Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I had a few from 06 and felt a bit let down by them. Prez, have you seen any improvement in 07s or late 06s? I really love this cigar but couldn't believe the blandness of the last batch I had.

I'm not the Prez, but the couple I've had from a Nov '06 cab are pretty nice, especially considering their youth.
smokum Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Ditto....I don't have the box code handy but I was pleasantly surprised.

They are not a cigar that can be enjoyed overly fresh. I think Ken hit it on the head in another thread that they need a few years and this is consistent with most of the Upmann line. Having said that, the Magnum 46 of late 06 (no 07 examles here yet) are increasing in body from the 04/05. Have potential but you won't be blown away in terms of complexity. Revisit in 2008/09 and I suspect the evolution will be stark.
