smokum Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 The really sad part is these shitbags actually find people to screw every day. Nearly impossible to stop them.
gehrig24 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I received this email (twice). Does this mean I should not help her?:-D
GoSteelers Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Yeah I've got at least a dozen variations of that letter. The best hoax email I got was supposed to be from the IRS. It said that someone had tried to pay their sales tax with my bank account, they wanted me to go to their website and confirm that it was my account. Had a link that went to a website that looked just like IRS site with a form to enter account # etc.. everything they would need to access your account. Even with all the mis-spelled words in the email I'm sure that it probably worked on some poor fools.
Mel39 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 » Has anyone else rec'd this email? It's purported to have come from this » site. None from FOH as yet but plenty of similar emails. If you want a giggle, check this site out where they play the scammers at their own game. There are similar sites around and make interesting reading. http://www.scambuster419.co.uk/ Recent attempts I've had from Nigerians is through Amazon, when I have put a couple of cameras up for sale. They email you through Amazon asking spurious questions, in order to get your email address. They then send a forged letter, supposedly from Amazon saying they have paid and would I send the camera to their uncle/brother/father/pastor in Nigeria. Yeah right! Mel39

I wish I had time do some of that myself.

Ken Gargett Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 what is really extraordinary is the huge number of people still falling for these emails. with all the publicity, you wonder how.
