Cam Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Was looking through my supplier's site and saw this bottle which I had in France, and forgot to do a review on, I paticularly liked Robert Parker's so I'll copy and paste that, then run some recommendations : "This inky/ruby colured cuvee offers a classic Beaucastel bouquet of new saddle leather, cigar smoke, roasted herbs, black truffles, underbrush, and blackberry as well as cheery fruit. It is a superb, earthy expression of this Mouvedre-dominated cuvee. Full-bodied and powerful, it will undoubtedly close down over the next several years... Anticipated maturity: 2008-2025..." 96/100 pts. (Robert Parker - Wine Advocate - Feb 2004) A great way to sum up a brilliant wine, I paticularly liked it for it's subtle falvors of herbs such as tabacco, chives and paprika, it's a very powerful Rhone created drink which I recommend with the following : Char Grilled Steak, Wild game e.g Venissons or Duck?Phaesant Truffle sauce, Caramel icecream, Creme Brulee Italian Short Espresso.
