Jimmy2 Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 What are some of the better MM's that are now hand made. Have smoked several boxes of H.Upmann Corona Major's. I know of PL Panetelas as i have heard get things about them. Would like to know what other major brands that we dont hear of often that are great everyday smokes but wont hurt you in the pocket.

I like the Por Larranaga Panetela as an inexpensive cigar. Some great caramel flavours BUT PLENTY OF BOXES ARE PRONE TO UNDERFILLING TO A CHRONIC EXTENT! Get a great box and you have a bargain. The Por Larranaga Montecarlo is also a great cheap sleeper of a cigar but unlike the Panetela...it needs time. Young and it can have an offputting sourness. 2-3 years and the sourness is gone replaced by lovely fruity flavours. Quintero Brevas can be an excellent buy. Medium full in body with leather, earth and spice. Jose Piedra Cazadores are plenty earthy. Great fishing cigar when you need a cigar which you are not going to cry over when it falls in the drink.

jgros001 Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I have only had a few but the Rafael Gonz Panetela Extras have been very flavorful and a fairly slow burning cigar as well.
