adamg Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 From a order of singles, so no idea of box date. Now that the evenings are drawing in I have changed to the shorter cigar. Normally this means a Reyes, RASCC or Boli PC. However, I really like a cigar with a large ring guage, but for the shorter stick this means the HdM Petit Robusto. Previous experiences of these have been awful (great first inch followed by a ridiculously hot cigar that becomes incredibly bitter). Now with the Monte PE, I have found the perfect Autumn cigar! Construction absolutely top notch, perfect wrapper, perfect draw. Lots of chocolate and leather flavours and nice even burn that doesn't become too hot. The one I tried was part of an order of singles, so no idea of box date. Can anyone advise on good dates for a full box?
habanohal Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Between these and the Edmundos, I havent fopund a flavorful one yet
bikeguy1 Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Just finishing a box of 10 dated Oct 06...the 7 I've smoked so far have all been very good, consistent in their qualities....this batch had medium milk-chocolate colored wrappers that were fairly dry to the touch. Just rec'd a box of 25 from Lisa last week, and they have darker, slightly oiler wrappers than the Oct 06 group. However, I don't know the date yet since the actual box hasn't arrived yet, just the 25 sticks. And, haven't smoked one yet, they need to rest after their trans-Pacific journey. I find the Petit Edmundo is the perfect smoke for late evenings this time of year...30-40 minutes, whether I can sit outside the whole time, or duck into the garage every minute for a puff! Good luck, and keep us posted on the good box dates you experience.
El Presidente Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I did a recent review of the Petit Edmundo which realy surprised me. I was no fan of them prior. Late 06 and 07 appear to be richer, fuller and have a personality which was absent in prior tastings.

I smoked three, put 10 into one of my cabinet drawers and put the rest into deep storage. GREAT smokes.....even young

Jimmy2 Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Where did you order it from? Than maybe we can help you.
bikeguy1 Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 » just orderd a box of 25 how would I know if it's authentic? The best way to assure authenticity is to order from a trusted source, and don't shop strictly for the cheapest price. As far as the box of MPE you ordered recently, more info is needed, although you shouldn't post sources on the public forum. Since I've been a member here, haven't purchased CC for anywhere else

I haven't orderd it yet, most of us have a job, that's why I haven't reply to any of the post cause the NAVY is working mybut off. Anyway I have been browsing in the internet looking for the petit, but It's confusing me, most of them are at the$220-$250 range but there is this one site that offers $160, and all of them are guranteeing authenticity. I just need a word of advice from the pro since I'm new at this and don't have any experience buying online, thanks.
Tampa1257 Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 MCDO, Should you have any questions concerning FOH or the Authenticity of the Habanos received from Lisa or Rob, please ask. This Premier Cuban Cigar Forum (FOH) is sponsored by Cigar Czar. They are supplied directly from Pacific Cigar Company out of Hong Kong, which is the Authorized and Exclusive Distributor of Habanos from Habanos S.A. for all of Asia including; Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Filipinos, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Fidji, Brunei, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand, Cambodia, South Korea, Taiwan and Viet Nam. May I suggest that you read a little, make an introduction thread so that you can get to know us as well as we get an opportunity to get to know you. There are many very experienced cigar smokers as well as experienced Cuban Cigar smokers here that should be more than willing to lend a hand and answer your questions. Many times it is best to ask them in their own thread so that they are not at the end of another. Best of luck. Tampa
luv2fly Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Smoked an 06 and I think it is good but it needs a few more years. That saide, I am a Hoyo fan and I hope it develops into what I think will be a fantastice short smoke.
