yossie Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Well, Currently My stomach is not so good. It may come from pressure. So, I take a drug called H2 blocker. With it, I can smoke some vitolas like robusto , CG, PC. They're very nice. Then I thought If my stomach is completely cured or becomes stronger , I will be able to smoke even churchil or double corona! IMHO, Basically Bigger cigars are more nice. So, I want to know how to fix my stomach or make stronger it. Thanks for reading it.
Tampa1257 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Well, I am not a Doctor, but I did play one for a Blonde Nursing student while I was in college for a long week end in the mountains. Maybe that will qualify me to attemp to answer your question? It sounds like you have a weak stomach when it comes to nicotine. Try using a tea spoon of sugar under your tongue before you smoke a Churchill or larger cigar, and if you feel your stomach starting to act up try another spoon full of sugar under your tongue. I believe that will solve your issue!:-D

anacostiakat Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Personally I would go with gin to settle the stomach. :-D
Professor Twain Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Always eat something before you smoke. And try drinking something soothing while you smoke, like some nice tea or ice water. A couple of other suggestions to avoid overdosing on the nicotine. Be sure not to puff too fast. You should also purge every once in a while (blow the smoke forward through the cigar) to get rid of noxious gases that accumulate. Finally, if you are getting the head of the cigar too wet, consider taking a second clip after smoking a while--that will get rid of the wet part of the cigar that accumulates the harsh part of the smoke. Best wishes with this.
yossie Posted September 12, 2007 Author Posted September 12, 2007 Hey mate, You know liqur makes stomach weaker. I like gin but I don't think it matches with cigars. Thanks

I often drink fruit juice in behalf of tea and ice water though, Is there a difference between them? The other of your recommendation is alrealy done by me. Then It seems becoming stronger with nicotine is somewhat tough. Thanks mate.

DISCLAIMER: The below is not medical advice, just common knowledge that can be found in texts or on the internet! No claims or liability assumed, seek the advice of your personal medical professional! (There, now I'm safe..lol Guess which country I live in?!) Yossie, The H2 blocker is just to reduce stomach acid, and it sounds like you've got a bit of acid reflux due to: reduced tone in the Lower Esophageal Sphincter (LES)..that's the "valve" on the upper portion of stomach; or some other reason. Unfortunately, nicotine, alcohol, coffee & colas, rich foods (and many other substances) all "relax" that valve and cause "heartburn" or can even start eroding away the lining of the esophagus..I know, all of the fun stuff causes problems! So, you may want to: a. Lay off the smoking & some of the other stuff for a month or so to help it heal (or at least smoke petit coronas for awhile); b. see your Dr & get something stronger to cut down on the excess stomach acid more. As far as "strengthening" your stomach, start slow and move up to stronger/larger cigars gradually..we all have mild adverse responses to some smokes on occasion

smokum Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 OMFG....Colt...I have a feeling your next box of cigars may be tampered with...you are toast !
jqmunro Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Uh, well I am a doctor, and tobacco definitely will increase your problems with reflux for the reasons stated above, that it makes it easier for the acid to make its way out of the stomach up to your esophagus. If you have a problem with peptic ulcer disease or gastritis that's a different beast of a problem. Either way, smoking tobacco definitely isn't helping anything. you may want to try and switch to a proton pump inhibitor like Protonix or Nexium... they are usually a bit more effective at combating the problem.
jqmunro Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 oh one other thing... there are physicians other than M.D.'s, there are also D.O.'s who also practice medicine in almost exactly the same philosophy... just a bit of trivia :op
yossie Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 Thanks for your professional advice. I've also heard proton pump inhiibitor is better. I will request it my doctor. I'm not sure he accepts it or not though.
