El Presidente Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Just a little rumour that the release of the Partagas Handrolled Culebra could be a one season wonder. No final decision has been made but there are problems in relation to increasing costs of packaging and payment to rollers. Fact is that Culebra rollers are not being paid as premium rollers though they are rolling a premium product. Between now and the end of 2007 I would purchase a box or two to put away just in case ;-)
habanohal Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I guess I might be able to leave them alone. That limits my choices to about 2500 other cigars in the cabinet :-D :-D :-D But what are we really talkin about. ?? Woth 10 times as much in 10 years? Or just keep em hanging around for future smokeing since you wont be able to replace them................................................ Or...............You posted this for you need sales up since you are giveing Lisa her well deserved pay raise??;-)
smokum Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I have been waiting to see these for sale here but haven't yet...am I blind ?? or is it just the lurgy ?
El Presidente Posted August 30, 2007 Author Posted August 30, 2007 How devious do you think I am? .......ok don't answer that Cigar investment is a poor turn of phrase. If for any reason they do decide to make the Partagas Culebra a one season wonder it will become a collectors item on the basis that I doubt HSA will go down the hand rolled Culebra route for a long long time if ever again. So...you might double your money in 5 years. Big deal Smokum...I don't list anything on the site that is in extreme limited supply. I would rather members just contact Lisa as that way they go to people who really want them. They are in stock and they likely will be at least up until Christmas 2007.

Just as I never seperate business from pleasure I never bother to tease out the best and the worst of my inherant personalities....simply the sum of my parts  9 count boxn(3 Culebra's in coffins). Lisa handles pricing but they are $77 from memory. Just a word however. These are good cigars but not exceptional at least not at this time. Should anyone decide to purchase, purchase as much for novelty value as anything else. You may enjoy them but I can't ever see them as being a regular part of anyone's rotation.

Mel Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Well I must be the dumbest dill on the planet???? I thought cigars was for smokin?? You guys make money on them??:-(
Matthew Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 True, the novelty is a big part of the appeal. Hanging out with your friends and sharing the culebras is a blast. However, these have a very good Partagas taste and are very enjoyable smokes. The biggest problem for me is that a box of 9 takes up a lot of humidor space. Otherwise, I'd buy a bunch.

El Presidente Posted September 3, 2007 Author Posted September 3, 2007 » so you can't sell them then? You try to do the decent thing and tip off members and all you get is this sort of libel. Pretty slow Ken. ;-)

Mine is stuffed with cigars I don't have room for. I am interested in picking up more of the Culebras. These are a lot of fun to break out at a sit down.
