havanaclub7 Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Trevor, A guy on another Cigar-related forum says he has some Hoyo Double Coronas with this kind of band: http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/images/Ho...es/2-band-2.gif I've smoked lots of Hoyo DCs (one of my personal all time favorites) and I've never seen one with that style of band. Do you have any thoughts?

The band in question was certainly used for early HDM and later more for the Le Hoyo series and generally for the smaller sized cigars. However I have the larger Particulars (47 x 235) in a coffin box with this type of band (date unknown, but discontinued 1987). MRN shows both bands on the Particulars (pages 210-211). The new HDM band is of course a modernisation of this Type 2 band. Maybe he means the newer band (I don't know if it has been applied to a DC). If aged stock, the DC may have have both bands applied, similar to the Particulars. That the best I can do, everyone else please free to chime in...:-)
