Wow, this "Mano" guy who makes all the cigars "totalamente" needs to be fired. Or at least get his name off the box. Or find another guy named Mano who can do a better job! Hehehe....:-P

Errrr . . . should I cancel my order of Monte 2s?! :lookaround: But seriously, the POS code has been pretty good to me so far. Hopefully, this is just a one-off.

How can these people not notice this and let it go? One cigar that needs replacing and another with a broken foot. And the cardboard is just plain unbelievable.

And how come someone cannot spell the first three letters of OCTober and gets them mixed up and still nobody notices!? They had the same on the cabs of Bolivar Colosales. One thousand dollars for a box of cigars stamped by an illiterate person! :surprised: What an image killer! Habanos SA should be ashamed of themselves for exporting such substandard product.

Sadly I agree. I know it is not funny but I gotta laugh.

Sometimes POS means something other than Partagas, apparently.

Any feedback you get from HSA would be appreciated Rob. Your straightforwardness is much appreciated here.

Well I should have a box of these with a box code of POS SEP 06 delivered today...I will post any info on it's condition and images if needed once received.

I had a couple of boxes (POS 06) delivered this week and yes there were split feet on some of the cigars. It seems to me that they have been pushed into a box that was a little too small lengthwise as they were a really tight fit in there! I didn't feel like checking all of them since I felt it could result in still greater damage if I'd force them out and then into the box again. Smokes real well, though... :-)

Well... it IS Cuba after all.

Are they sorted by wrapper color at the very least? Maybe the packer thought that the gradient would look better if he flipped the last one over. :-D

Those are pathetic...but these issues aren't limited to the Partagas Factory. A couple years ago, a box of Siglo VI (sadly, not from Rob et al) were in even worse shape with broken, unwrapped feet and split heads. The ones on the outside of the wheel looked OK, but the ones on the inside were just plain awful. Pieces of missing wrapper, loose wrappers, etc. We're talking Cohiba and Laguito!! Probably 30-40 percent of the box was completely substandard. Sure, I might be able to smoke them if I wanted to, but these are a "premium" product and my money should buy cigars in good condition.

I can't deny that construction quality has, overall, consistantly improved over the last few years, but cases like this demonstrate that they have a long way to go.

I've hated that factory code but now I know that it was just a prophecy, now coming true. I have had to guess at the months and years on several boxes.

Well I received my box today, opened it up not sure what to expect and what I found were some of the best looking No.2's I have seen...dark and oily, and oh what a smell. Next I took a look at he divider and it was the same cedar sheet as in the last box I received. I checked all of the sticks and there was no damage at all to any of the sticks. They were tight within the box so no movement would have been allowed during shipping.

Overall a great box of Monte No.2's

POS SEP 06

Unfortunate for Habanos, they are going to have a hard time elevating their product to a true luxury product like they plan with quality control as exampled here.

Received an answer back this morning.

I'm back at the office. I 've seen the pics of that Monte 2 you sent. I hate to say that it was a rejected box that by mistake was put in the wrong lane. See that cigar on the right placed upside down?, it's the way the color graders and quality supervisors use to mark the boxes with problems, not only construction but colors and the tip of the cigar itself.

Thank you Brother. I will use the photo's for training. It is important that standards of the highest order are met. We are trying and we have come a long way but you have reminded again how far we have to go.

I guess I am a true newbie because I would have freaked had I received that. Man, that is really bad. Thanks for the information and I'm glad they are claiming it was put in the wrong lane.
