KB24 Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 I am headed to Cabo this weekend and will be going to the LCDH Friday evening after dinner. Plan on picking up several singles for the weekend. I thought it would be wise to sample some sticks that I am thinking of purchasing. So far my list is RyJ Churchill, LGC Tainos, JL#1, and a Monte #2. Any one have any suggestions? I like lighter and milder smokes. Smokes that produce lots of rich and creamy smoke without over-powering spice flavor. Thoughts? -Patrick

I took 3 boxes with me so I passed on buying but a buddy bought a couple of singles and they were both dry. We put them in my travel box for a week and they seemed okay when he went to smoke them.
Shooter Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 In my opinion you'd be remiss not to explore any number of Hoyo de Monterey's; Epicure 1, 2, Des Dieux's, or DC's (it IS vacation you know), and your Juan Lopez's 1's or 2's should be a good choice. Add some El Rey Del Mundos (Choix Supreme's or Coronas Deluxe) and Cohibas for good measure (grin) and you'll be fine. The "young" Monte's and RyJ's you're likely to find will be anything but "mild" so I'd go to the super-flavorful cigars mentioned. Just my thoughts.
KB24 Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 Think they'll have Cohiba Maduro 5's available?
Justinwzp Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 » Think they'll have Cohiba Maduro 5's available? Give them a call. Both of the guys who work there speak english.
jwm8592 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 I would reccomend the RyJ Short Churchill's, they're a nice little stocky robusto that is on the mild side of medium. Really smooth & creamy I'm sure you would enjoy them, also the Partgas Serie D No. 4 another robusto, has a little more bite than the RyJSC, IMHO but really not strong, and should do the trick for your tastes. Enjoy your trip!:-)
El Presidente Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Keep an eye out for last boxes of: Cohiba Double Corona LE Cohiba Sublimes LE Long shot I know but well worth the effort. Also (more longshots): Punch Super Seleccion No 2 H. Upmann Super Corona. For singles try: Punch Royal Seleccion No 11 Punch Super Seleccion No 1 Juan Lopez Sepeccion No 2 R&J Short Churchill. Have a great trip!
