From a box coded FPG OESU.

Undoubtedly the RyJ Churchill is not only one of the most recognizable cigars--with its handsome gold band, but I suspect it's created more fond memories than any other cigar. A big statement I realize!

This "classic" has certainly withstood the test of time and despite an occasional "boring" review, I personally have had some of those memorable moments with this 7 x47 masterpiece.

It's the cigar that's often brought out on special occasions such as weddings, birthdays and the like. It's likely to be the box of cigars your buddy picks up for you (hopefully from a good source!) when overseas. And whether it sports a shiny aluminum tube or a slightly squarish box shape; you're probably in for a good smoke.

It was no special occasion when I decided this was the cigar of choice the other night. A quiet moment after dinner and I retreated to the cigar room. A pour of Glen Livet, a snip, some "toasting" of the foot and we were off!

Ahhhhh, there's that magical Romeo taste. With nearly ten years of age it turns "soft" in its tobacco richness. A slightly loose draw (I can't recall overly tight RyJ Churchills) and gobs of smoke spilled into the room. Yes, life just got turned up a notch! I enjoy the RyJ flavor profile--always have, always will. Whether a beloved Exhibition 4 or one of the Churchills, I can't recall an unpleasant experience.

I have a sealed "ten-pack" of tubed '04's that are destined for my daughter's wedding---which, at her current age of just 5---should be quite the treat come 15 or more (hopefully) years!

Long live the RyJ Churchill! :-P

I have found the 98 - 2000s to be magnificent. However, more recent production (prior to 2006 as I have not sampled any) have been more muted and not nearly as enjoyable.

I think I should try some 2006 or 2007s when I get a chance. :-)
