Hanzo Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Hello: Wanted to introduce myself. Lived in the US all my life, but the job takes me to Asia a fair amount. About a year ago, a buddy of mine took me to the Red Chamber Cigar Divan in HK and introduced me to some cubans. I've been in love ever since. Back home, I've tried to diversify into non-cubans with very limited success. Aged Opus X aged is nice, but too expensive. Padrons are good, but are more full, round and fat. IMHO, the finesse and complexity profile you get in a cuban is tough to beat. The only problem is variability. After lurking a fair bit, I've discovered the info in this forum is phenomenal and I look forward to contributing to the group in the future. BTW - I tried a Montecristo C yesterday, I don't understand why this is worth the added limitada premium. I was rather underwhelmed. Best, Paul
El Presidente Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Welcome Paul :-) If you come to this part of the world regularly keep in mind a quick visit Down Under. Monte C LE...I am not sure of any other cigar that can cause such division
tigger Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Welcome! I, for the most part, have stayed away from the ELs because they haven't seemed worth the premium you mentioned.
