shrink Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Anyone else miss our good mate Smithy? Things just haven't been the same since he left for the wilds of Queensland. He was good for a few laughs, and he could craft a fine review when he set himself to the task. I even miss seeing the photos of Smithy on the deck, soaking up the sun and a glass of wine or two. A natural comedian. Cohiba just doesn't cut it for me, three-legged food pirate that he is. Hope you're doing well, mate. Hope to have you back someday!

shrink Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 » who? Don't remember Smithy? He was Rob's dog, the lanky Rhodesian Ridgeback that used to lay out on the porch while Rob was reviewing cigars. He was a good dog... he liked white wines. Rob had to put him down because he relieved himself on Rob's leg once too often. How soon we forget... :-(
Colt45 Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 » Don't remember Smithy? » ... he liked white wines. » » Rob had to put him down because he relieved himself on Rob's leg once too » often. » Ahhhh....... I almost remember - but wasn't he put down for, ahem, "cleaning" himself a bit too often?!?
Ken Gargett Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 speaking of cohiba, rumours abound that said 3-legged pirate has cut a swath through the other family pets (rob's home now know as the local pet cemetry). apparently rob and cohiba about as popular as ever. can't recall where that came from and if anyone thinks it was minismithy speaking out of turn, i assure you not him. should any evidence, however compelling, suggest minismithy, certainly not. any confession by minismithy in this matter would undoubtedly be coerced.
El Presidente Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Smithy popped in Friday afternoon with a cheap bottle of wine and hands open for the latest Cohiba Genios (taking lessons from Ken no doubt ;-) ). He is well and looking forward to posting a review on the Genios later this week. Outide of work production and profitability going through the roof.....I miss him as well
asmith Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 » Smithy popped in Friday afternoon with a cheap bottle of wine and hands » open for the latest Cohiba Genios (taking lessons from Ken no doubt ;-) » ). A cheap bottle of wine! It wasn't that cheap it didn't come in a bag like Ken offers nowadays. As Rob mentioned I did drop in on Friday and enjoyed a couple of laughs with the boys. It was like I was back at home, Rob full of abuse and stories, Lisa full of hugs, MiniSmithy developing his taste for fine cigars. Thanks Colt for the nice message 'who.' I devoted the best years of my life to that company and this is how you remember me. The Cohiba Review is on its way Rob.

For those members who never had the dubious pleasure of dealing with Smithy, among other important Czar duties, he used to pack cigars, I once made the mistake of pissing him off (maybe it was more than once), and I came down with a case of severe intestinal trauma. It had been said he didn't wash his hands after using the men's room - let's just leave it at that.
asmith Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 » I once made the mistake of pissing him off (maybe it was more than once), Like a warming fire on a cold night, your cutting comments have been sorely missed.
El Presidente Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 » Like a warming fire on a cold night, your cutting comments have been » sorely missed. no doubt you have had a lot of lonely cold nights since you left "The Big Smoke" ;-)
asmith Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 » no doubt you have had a lot of lonely cold nights since you left "The Big » Smoke" ;-) Rob, arr your acid tongue and whit have not been missed. I'm pleased that you had to leave early on Friday leaving me in the Humidor to steal what I wanted. Again Rob your generosity is fantastic.
El Presidente Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 The board should know that Smithy brought his "Partner" by the humidor Friday. Well dressed, neat & tidy with a great sense of humour and even enjoyed a cigar. Say hello to Paul for me ;-)
Ben Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Enough *** innuendo to give Richard Simmons a coronary. You two crack me up :-)
Freefallguy Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 » Say hello to Paul for me ;-) This may give rise to the nature of his cigar packing.
Freefallguy Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 » » Say hello to Paul for me ;-) This may give rise to a new perspective of Smithy being a cigar packer.
wp2 Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 » Anyone else miss our good mate Smithy? I do, I do! Cigar packer extraordinare!!!! Glad you're doin' well Smithy.
