I enjoy warm sake with sushi/sashimi dinners and was wondering if you, Ken, or anyone else know(s) of some good/great selections? Beyond Gekkeikan or Takara. I’m not looking for very dry.

Any suggestions on cold sake as well?

I personally like Kikumasamune Taru or Kikumasamune Choutokusen, both are Junmai sake. Brewed using only polished rice (30% removed), water and koji (no added alcohol). You can also try Onikoroshi, a Honjozo sake (a little added distilled alcohol).

Not Saki but Shochu "iichiko"

I enjoy it. I have no idea what I am drinking ......but I enjoy it. I can only assume it is not a Japanese window cleaning agent :lookaround:

if it wasn't, that would make a nice change. and still better than that well aged rose you try to offload on me friday (and after you do me to bring a cask of sweet red for lisa - shame).

first up, i have a suspicion that warm sake is far less prevalent in japan than we westerners have led to believe. might be wrong but i have doubts.

second, the place for info is the website of an american living in japan - www.sake-world.com. amazing site with all the info you could want.

third, i am attempting to email you my files on sake. way more info than could fit in the forum but most if not all from previous newsletters of this site (monthly free newsletter if anyone interested).

problem here is we see so few good ones and hard to know what is good and what is not. there are a few aussie ones that have done well, if aussie sake is not an oxymoron.
