FlyFishingDude Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Well now, after smoking NCs for about 2 years and deciding to take the plunge into CCs. I started surfing the net and reading this and that and lurked in a couple forums and noticed a tendency to keep the cards close to the vest for sources which is understandable especially when dealing with an embargo plagued country. Since no one is going to give up a source to a new guy, I found a source online which luckily turned out to be be legit. I stumbled upon this forum and after lurking and reading just about all the old posts, decided to join. What really caught my eye was this forum seemed to be average joes who love cigars and are willing to share information without being a bunch of elitist frat boy *******, (I was a frat boy in college) btw. It just seemed like a good mix to me. Hopefully I won't be deemed a "Wanker or Toseer" and will continue to be educated in this "thing of ours". Enjoy the rest of the weekend. I'm going out to finish the rest of my HDM 2007 EL and a couple fingers of bourbon. Mike OK enough BS, I joined because of the fishing sub forum..............
cgarner Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Awesome post. Glad I found this forum before I jumped into the world of online sources. I never received a call
Fumadoro Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Thanks for the very thoughtful post! I guess I am really privileged/ lucky to find FOH before I made any bad buys from bad vendors.
bsmokin Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Wow... this is very useful. I've been on some other forums (not naming names) but this place is definitely different. Why are people so open, honest, and laid back on this site? I've found my online cigar home Cheers to a good group of 'mates' !!
CanuckSARTech Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Just joined into the forum, and read this. Invaluable post - an excellent primer for Habanos newbies. Well put.
jmsremax Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Great post.....is there any way to confirm with someone(s) if a vendor is legit?
warren516 Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 I have to agree with the other members and their posts. I found this place throug a search and like reading the reviews and the other great information found here. What's even better is the video reviews by Prez and Ken, a couple of regular guys, enjoying a cigar and a glass or bottle of 2 of wine. Who can't trust guys like this.
android Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Just don't leave your woman alone with them...
kruler Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 This thread is a great help to someone starting out like myself. It's much appreciated, thanks for posting.
kfurlong Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Fantastic information! I haven't actually made any purchases yet but I've read a lot of vendor reviews on cigarinspector.com (not sure if it's cool to post that but it's how I found the Czar and FoH), although I don't trust all of the reviews it's better than nothing.
mrhuh Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 What an excellent post, super advice. I was in exactly the same boat as most of you others, looking for a legit vendor. I did not want to waste too much money and get ripped off. I made the almost criminal mistake of asking in some other forum if anyone knew how to check if a particular vendor was any good. The nastiness was what really bothered me, but I'm a big boy and ignored it. Some very nice guy passed on a site that just reviews places, I sampled around, found this wonderful place and really it was not too much of a hassle. Take your time and sample first. If it seems too good to be true, well you know the answer to that one.
drzubia8 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Excellent! Thank you for the information. Very helpful indeed.
ckile2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 This was very well put together. It was an enjoyable read!!

Burtonium Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Newbie here, great info and thank you! I hope to spend a lot of time here and find a good vendor to deal with, since I'm convinced I haven't had the pleasure of a real Cuban stick yet.
