olotti Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Another stellar review. Do you guys ever not have sunny days there in Brisbane, man besides the cigars you guys get unbelievable weather too.
El Presidente Posted March 28, 2007 Author Posted March 28, 2007 » Another stellar review. As for you other Clutch Cargo's I have learn't over the years that there are some women it is best to walk away from early and take the time to re-assess ;-)
smokum Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 » » As for you other Clutch Cargo's » Holy Cow ! I haven't heard Clutch Cargo in a looooong time !!!Rob...how do you know about Clutch Cargo ??? I thought that was just on Garfield Goose or Ray Rayner show here in the states !!!
shrink Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Very interesting review, Rob. This one seems to fall outside the profile with which I am familiar. May be worth a go. Have you tried any '06 Grandes de Espana? If they have this strength and complexity, they might be legendary.

My work never ends ;-)
KB24 Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I got an 05 box and have smoked 1 and it wasn't too enjoyable. I have decided to wait another year before I break it open and torch up another. I see potential though!
Quint Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I have a box of July '06's that where very nice at about the 6 month point. Fruity mild to medium body creamy sweet finish and easy on the nose exhale. But a month later ,wooh, just like Robs review, peppery very harsh on a nose exhale and only hints of what is was. Needless to say I've put them away for a bit. If they come back around to my intitial impressions and improve on that profile its going to be one hell of a smoke.
stickman Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I got BOX OF 98'S ON THE WAY....i'm salivating already
Sir Diggamus Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Great review Pres! I might have to look for a box of these soon!
Guibou Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Forgot your cutter at home and used your teeth in the cuban way apparently :-D ! Obviously it was quite a nice smoke, your pen did not move an inch ;-) !
novasurf Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I ain't never had stewed prunes. That for older folks? On occasion, I've been known to get pretty stewed.
cigarnv Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Always a wonderful cigar that gets far too little attention. I have some 98 cabs that just keep getting better with age. As Havana's go the CS is IMO one of the most elegant cigars they produce.
Gryphon Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I have seen these referred to as both a Robusto and a Hermoso No 4. Which is the correct definition?? Thanks
Colt45 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 » I have seen these referred to as both a Robusto and a Hermoso No 4. » Which is the correct definition?? » Hermosos No.4 - 48 x 5'' (127mm)
El Presidente Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 Hermoso no 4 is indeed the correct description. To me they are Robusto's. When you are on my deck and I hand you a ERDMCX I will ask if you are in the mood for a Robusto....not if you are in the mood for a Hermoso No 4 :-D
Colt45 Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 » To me they are Robusto's..... I've heard, from a source that shall remain unnamed (Lisa), that the reason sizes are sometimes "confused", is that what is sometimes referred to as "My morning Merlo coffee" is actually some type of 100 proof distillate. I wonder what else the size of gets exaggerated while "having coffee"
Guest PSU OpusX Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I was lucky to get a handful that are 5yo and they are unbelievable. I may be forced to buy an entire box soon.

I just recently recieved my 98's and as usual I smoked one OTT...I was amazed at the flavors and taste of this awesome cigar...my experience with OTT is sometimes its a hit and sometimes a miss....this was a HIT and I cant wiat for them to aclimate stick
Cam Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 nice review rob, like the brissy weather cant wait to get back.. wanna sit on that deck..
Guest PSU OpusX Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Any chance of getting some cabs of these in so I could get my hands on one?:-D
CoryOllis Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 » Any chance of getting some cabs of these in so I could get my hands on » one?:-D Wow, that threw me at first, too! I looked under El Rey De Mundo and saw nothing. Then I caught them down the list under Rey De Mundo. They must not like definite articles down under? ;-) They don't have a cab but they carry a box of 25. I'm a fan of this stick, too. Haven't tried the young ones yet. It sounds like a wild ride from your enjoyable review. Thanks, Rob! :-D
