I am very close to putting a deposit on this one tomorrow. Just hate to put my Rolex Daytona on the chopping block. I am 99% sure I am doing it. 2017 AP Royal Oak chronograph. I think I can get it for 45k which is a hell of a deal. List price is 55500. Decided against the rose gold offshore chrono. I already have a stainless offshore chrono and I fell in love with the gold bracelet. The royal oak bracelet is beautiful.  Looks much better in the metal vs a pic

55k for the brick?! My AD can get me it for $50,900 out the door, I just picked up a SS Sky dweller for 16k

I was quoted 55000 for the the brick at the watch show put on by the local AP boutique. They quoted me 50k and some change back 3 months ago when they had one in stock. They were going for list price at first on the blue 41mm rose gold that was brought in for the show. The second day the store manager dropped the price to 45200 which convinced me to bite. This is the best price that I could find on this watch new from an authorized Ap dealer. They all play games with the pricing. 50k should be the correct number for the gold offshore chrono. That was a nice pair of watches you scored for the correct prices

Can anybody impart any opinions on Glashütte?

They're solid watches but weren't as fancy pre-unification.  There are a lot of good German watches on the market.  Nothing to worry about in quality wise on Glashutte Original.

http://www.watchbuys.com is a German watch specialist vendor online.

Got my first "smart" watch for Xmas, a Samsung gear s3.

Bit pricey for what it is but I'm having fun with all the different watch faces :)

Very nice and classy looking.  Well done.  Neat dial layout with the date counter as it is.

Lovely piece, congratulations!

Last time I bagged a bargain, it turned out that it was a soon-to-be ex-wife doing the selling ....

That’s a beauty piece! Congrats. Have always had a soft spot for GO. And because they’re owned by Swatch Group you can get them serviced without having to send back to Germany (unlike Lange and Nomo’s)

Here are a couple recent watch acquisitions of mine:

The first one is an Omega Seamaster 2254.50. This is probably my favorite watch I own.

The second one is an IWC Mark XVIII. I just purchased this one after the new year and it is getting more wrist time than my 2254.50 and my 2531.80 (another Omega Seamaster). IMG_2342.thumb.JPG.e278f9c811aedf5a8281513c9d96551e.JPGIMG_2343.thumb.JPG.0cde1d24856ef55f081379a8f33eb93e.JPG

I love the 2254.50 Seamaster. I personally think it is the best looking Seamaster. Love those sword hands.

Nice IWC too!

Tons of new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore designs announced recently. Wild colors in the Offshore Diver. Really nice model in rose gold and titanium. I went by the local AP boutique today to make a payment on my layaway. They told me not to get my hopes up on the 2018 releases. They may get one example of several models of they are lucky. Also they are supposed to be closing 7 retail outlets to factory dealerships. Demand is up and supplies are down big time. I noticed the internet stores have lowered their discounts considerably. Looks like I bought my RO chrono at the right time. Now if I can just come up with the cash to finish paying for it

Nice examples. I have had a number of the IWC Mark pilot watches through the years. On my list for down the road

Nice watch. The AP boutique sells those along with Blancpain and several others. They have an excellent reputation for reliability and dollar value. I spent some time talking to one of the principals of the company during the watch show here back in Nov. The owners family had to hide from the Nazis during WW2. Interesting company
