new2habano Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 » These photos are old - I've probably added 1,000 or so cigars since these » were taken. I'll try to take some new photos and post them. That is a serious humidor, beautiful black walnut.
Smokin Bulldog Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 You guys are giving me a complex! I feel the need to grow;-)
KB24 Posted December 2, 2006 Author Posted December 2, 2006 Isn't this fun fellas. Gives us something to one day hope for and allows us to see how we keep our cigars safe and sound. I know we have over 1500 members but only so far about 10 collections. HUH??? Keep em coming!!!!
COJ Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 » I posted this on the other forums I participate on and have got some good » replys. Post some pictures of your personal collections. I will have an » updated picture by Wednesday as I am waiting for a delivery tomorrow or » Tuesday. I can't wait to see the responces and hopefully everyone will » have some fun with this. I think it is great to see other collections and » how people keep there prized positions. I dont have very many Cuban cigars and not so fancy storage... The upper compartment of the fridge/freezer. Honduran, Nicaraguan and DR made cigars. The lower compartment of the fridge/freezer. Bundles and singles. The freezer. Mainly Cuban but also some other cigars. 1
Digi Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 These are some great pics everyone! Gotta say, I'm a little jealous
DrAlejandro Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 awesome pics guys... keep up the good work ;-)
new2habano Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 » It pales in comparison to some of the monster collections already posted in » this thread but it is my little slice of heaven. :-D That end table is gorgeous and a classic.
Ginseng Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Fantastic setups, gentlemen. But now I've got storage envy as all I use are Coleman coolers. :-( Wilkey
dizedean Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 As soon as I retrieve my jaw from the floor, and return my pulse to normal, I will thank you all for a peek inside you collections. It is all so awe inspiring. I am ashamed to show my measly Humi. If anyone is worried about finding the time to smoke all of those fine cigars, I will gladly help. Great pics. Thanks.
aavkk Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 HAHA, wow claudius! Now that explains why I could only get my hands on 3 boxes of early 07 RASCC. Great collection, thanks for posting.
asc Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 » Just a pic of my (not yet finished) wine and cigar cellar. In the second » pic, I have moved some of the cigars from the front row of the right » shelf. Claudius, Would it be uncouth of me to ask you: 1.) How long you have been building your collection? 2.) Approximately how many boxes you buy in a calendar year? 3.) How much money you spend on cigars in a calendar year? Just curious seeing such an amazing collection.
Spartan Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Holy smokes! those are some serious collections

Approximately how many boxes you buy in a calendar year? 100 - 150. » 3.) How much money you spend on cigars in a calendar year? Depends on whether I buy more of the smaller vitolas or more of the bigger ones, but I'd say roughly 15 - 20 k. 2
FireDigger Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Wow Claudius, that's a crazy collection you have there!!! That collection probably can supply a small village for a few years. I've only been collecting for about a year with mostly singles. I am already slowing down the collection though. This last order, thanks to Lisa and FOH! 1

GP012 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 » How many do you smoke a year? Let's just say that during my week in France with Claudius earlier this year, there was rarely a moment I didn't see a cigar in his mouth. Knowing C, he probably smokes in his sleep too! :-D
sepp Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 » Now, all I see is blackness... I think these pics might start a few divorces... in a few months when the credit card bills start hitting
Claudius Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 » How many do you smoke a year? A box a week on average, so that's 25 x 52 = 1300 a year.

How do keep your palate clear enough to enjoy them. I usually do that many cigars per day when I'm on Vacation. But I notice by the end of the day that most of the subtle aromas are lost. Even sipping on scotch and rum isn't enough to clear it all away.
asc Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 » Even sipping on scotch and rum isn't enough to clear it all away. Need to sip on MORE scotch and rum! :-D

Yes, anything between 3 and 5, sometimes 6 a day, depending on size, mood, time, etc. I drink a lot of water (and rum and other things :-D), but I dont find that smoking a cigar affects the next too much. Also, I often have meals in between as I usually smoke 1 in the morning, 1 or 2 in the afternoon and 2 after dinner. The only time I have trouble tasting a cigar's flavors or aromas is when I have a sinusitis, which happened a lot last winter. Other than that, the only problem I have is that there isnt more time in a day to enjoy more of these fantastic cigars! :-D I'm smoking a ABR 08 RAG right now. Had a Magicos earlier, a Regios before that and a Petit Edmundo after lunch. I can taste the spice, the "stewed fruit", the nice medium body, the rich, amost creamy, palate coating goodness of this cigar without any problem. The Magicos wasnt that great (as opposed to when it came out), but it could well be in its sick period. And btw, get some nice and oily Petit Edmundos! I hate the vitola, but this cigar bursts with a rich espresso taste, and body is very present for a Monte! Too young now (FEB 08), but this will be good soon!
semery74 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 » Yes, anything between 3 and 5, sometimes 6 a day, depending on size, mood, » time, etc. Very impressive! Your collection and your stamina. So, out your entire collection what do you treasure the most? What are you saving for special occasions? Didn't I read somewhere where you were expecting your third child? Or was that long ago? Did you buy a certain box to celebrate?
