Ken Gargett
Took up several from my cab, which are young, and one of the other guys brought some older ones - had a couple of years on them (don’t have specifics for either). Both were very good but it did show that with only a couple of years, they really do move up a notch. Had intended smoking half the cab while young and putting the rest away but now might move almost all to deep storage. The young ones are concentrated and extremely powerful for their size, quite tight and with real richness. They burn well but quite slowly. With age, they lose any hint of harshness and become mellow and much more complex and interesting. Develop a little touch of the herbals, though in a most attractive way. If one had to score - 89 for the young and 92 for the older ones.

Van55
» Not a producer with which I am very familiar so keen to have a look at some » and this was a great place to start. Think someone posted a thread about » what were favourite petit coronas and bot sure if this featured (will have » to check) but if they smoke this well regularly then it is definitely going » to become one of mine. Undistinguished start. There was a hint of box press » - from Rob’s H’dor so not sure of age but think it was reasonably young. » The wrapper look like it could have been a brown paper bag and possibly » even a hint of black mold (wasn’t moldy but did have that look). So wasn’t » expecting much. But loved it. Smoked slowly and consistently with a » tightish draw but not too tight. Has deceptive power. A bit fire and » spice. Some dark coffee and earthy notes. Smoked consistently right » through. Think that with another year or two in the h’dor, should be a » cracker. Note that our friend from Honkers suggests “Tremendous ageing » potential‘. But then he says that about everything. He also says it was to » be discontinued in 2002 but obviously not, unless I have jagged an old one. » But do agree that it is a long termer. 89. Production of these was discontinued in 2002. Cabs of 50 were released in the spring of 2004, and the cigars in the cabinets were banded. It's possible that these more recent PLPC's were specifically commissioned by Pacific Cigars or Phoenecia Trading Company. The 2004 releases do not yet have the typical PL caramel overtone, and they are still quite youthfully exuberant to my taste.

dpuck
» I'm with Ginseng, this has got me keen to try. Any in soon Prez? I don't think you will be disappointed. I went through two cabs of these last year. Like Vann said, they may still be a little youthful, but I just couldn't keep my hands off of them. wasch_24
I was recently gifted a cab of KMM Nov 04 and I don't plan on smoking a single stick until their two year birthday. Even then it will not be more than two sticks and then again at three years old.

Ken Gargett
had not heard anything about these being discontinued. that is very disappointing and means that i'll need to be a lot more miserly with those that remain. will try and find out the fate of these. » Production of these was discontinued in 2002. Ken Gargett
just looking thru stuff on these and see that min ron nee says discontinued from 2002. i see from rob's comment above that there may be hope.
Ken Gargett
the bad news is that these were definitely discontinued in 2002. there is a possibility that havana will consider reinstating them at some stage in the future (don't hold your breath) but i guess they can say that about everything they cut. rob, who makes these decisions? at your next chatfest, perhaps you could put in a word for them? 1f1fan
Well this damn thread kept on getting pushed back to the top and I just couldn't keep my hands out of my cab...thanks a lot! I smoked a PLPC from Sep 04 last night. It is still VERY young..started out a little harsh but settled down a bit and developed into a nice mix of tobacco, chocolate and burnt caramel flavors. The finish was long and enjoyable.....with some age these babies should be fantastic!

Ken Gargett
i don't like raining on anyone's parade, especially my own, but my info that they are discontinued period, is very recent. unless something has happened high up in habanos, suspect this is true so treasure what you have. that said, my source occasionally ends up with info that proves not completely accurate. in this case, i know he enquired of their fate and that was the word that came from on high. i'm hoping he has this one wrong but doubt it. tandblov
Picked up a 50 can a couple of weeks ago, and if they even come close to the ones I've tasted, then I am justified in doing a YIPPIE!!!! Smoke one every now and then and hopefully, a majority of them will get a few years on them, then again, I doubt it!:-P
