purosdave Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 There is going to be a large 3 day party here in Portland revolving around cigars and beer. There have been many donations made by some very generous vendors from all around the world. There will be a raffle benefitting charity, a poker tournament and a "long-ash contest" also benefiting our charity (Cigar Family Charitable Foundation). Please e-mail me if you would like more information or to RSVP. [email protected] Schedule of events: Friday will start of with a tour of the Widmer brewery, followed by a tasting, and finally ending up at the Horse Brass. Saturday we will be taking the Oregon Brewers Festival [link=www.oregonbrewfest.com]OBF website[/link] by storm. We will migrate over to Jake's Grill in the late afternoon for some further libations and a bite to eat. Sunday will be a barbecue in Ladd's addition, address will be provided at the other events. I will be bringing some of my homebrew and there are over 20 cases of beer that have been donated (most will be given away in the raffle). Locals are also bringing some dishes and meats to bbq. The poker tournament, long ash contest and the raffle will be done here. You don't need to be present to win the raffle. This is our 7th year putting on this event and the sponsor list and attendance grows every year. It is an open event and I would love to see some new faces representing FoH this year.

Jakes does indeed rock and you will be missed. However, there is no way that I will be having a LEMON DROP for anybody! Quisas una Martini.
purosdave Posted July 26, 2006 Author Posted July 26, 2006 For anybody interested we are getting a PRIVATE Widmer brewery tour and tasting at 4pm this Friday. They are requesting that we be there 15 minutes in advance. Let me know if you plan to attend so I can give them a headcount. Oh, and when I say tasting, I am using that term very loosely. Last year they left us with 6 free pitchers of beer. :-P
