Each Habanos Regional Distributor can request one regional release per annum.

In relation to PCC the process is fairly straight forward. They will seek ideas from their major distributors within their territory and jointly the ideas will be narrowed down to three cigars.

Those three cigars are submitted to Habanos s.a in order of preference. They also submit the quantity they are seeking.

Habanos s.a looks at the cigars put forward and in conjunction with Cubatobacco assesses what it believes it can do taking into account the required blends, wraper leaf requirements etc.

Habanos s.a makes a decision and instructs PCC. From inception to the first cigars arriving takes 12-18 months.

The main rule is that no regional releases can come from "The Big 5"

ie R&J, Cohiba, Montecristo, Upmann or Hoyo De Monterrey.
