El Presidente Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 The Por Larranaga Robusto has been approved as our 2007 Regional Release. You may not see it for 12-18 months but it will certainly be worth waiting for. I understand it will be released in both dress boxes of 25 and cabinets of 50. The new rule changes for Regional Releases come into effect 2007 where each region can request only one cigar to be made (previously 2) and exclusivity will remain for only one year (previously three). Don't worry Tampa and Reid...I am now pushing for a Por Larranaga Lancero for all of us lovers of the "finer" things of life
greenpimp Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........... i would like to hereby reserve 2 cabs.
Tampa1257 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 The Por Larrañaga Robusto has been approved as our 2007 Regional A PL Robusto works just fine too for me, after all it is only a 50 rg. BUT, if you get them to make a PL Lancero, I'm down with that as well! As far as the PL Robusto, Let me place a order for 4 cabs of 50 and 4 dress boxes of 25. I love the Por Larrañaga flavor that much to stock away some for aging!
BigSlick Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I'm with Tampa. I have only had the MonteCarlos, but love the taste. Great golf cigar. Now if I could only get my hands on a cab of PLPC's..................anyone reserving a cab wanna back out for me? :-D
shrink Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 The Por Larranaga Robusto has been approved as our 2007 Regional Release. Reminds me of those Alaskan farmers who grow Jalapenos the size of watermelons! OK, OK, so Alaskan farmers don't grow Jalapenos. You get the idea!
PorscheC4S Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I was just reading Min Ron Nee's Enc. of Post Rev. Havanas earlier (Thanks Lisa and Smithy) and wondering about different brands that didn't make my favorite vitola (robusto). Nee's description of the PLs "caramel sweet" taste intrigued me. I was then disappointed to find no robusto listed. Your announcement of the new size is quite a coincidence!

Especially the change of the rules for the Regional Releases is a surprise to me. What about the Ramon Allones Estupendos then? Will this cigar stay for two years or is it going to disapeare after one allready? Speaking of wich: When is the Estupendos due to come out??? Regards, Tom
GTS21 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Holy cow! Are you taking reservations for these? Seriously.

DrAlejandro Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 thats AWESOME news! any idea what the price is going to be on those bad boys?
El Presidente Posted July 6, 2006 Author Posted July 6, 2006 The Ramon Allones Estupensos and Punch Double Robusto 2006 Regional releases will technicaly be around for the next three years. They were only approved in January/February so we still are not likely to see supply until last quarter of this year. I should have some more information upon my return from Havana and RTDA. There is a risk however that they will not be available until early 2007. The reason is that there is no use in releasing 10,000 sticks to the market. The initial release will need to be substantial so I suspect they will be stockpiled until a critical mass is reached. No...we are not taking orders for the PL Robusto Regional Release I just thought you guys would like to know what is going on in the world of cigars. I won't know pricing until they have reached PCC in Hong Kong.
idesign Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Are the PL Lonsdales out yet? I know they're not your region, but those are what really interest me.......
El Presidente Posted July 7, 2006 Author Posted July 7, 2006 » Are the PL Lonsdales out yet? I know they're not your region, but those are » what really interest me....... Not that I am aware of. I think that because the approval for the regional 2006 releases came so late (Jan/Feb) it has delayed the process. It is a positive sign that the 2007 releases have been approved 9 months earlier.

Hate to dig up an old thread, but I was reading through some old posts and found this to be interesting. El Presidente, what is the process for requesting the vitolas and blends for RR? I think this is pretty cool that Habanos will essentially make you something special if you ask for it. Details would interest me greatly. TIA.:-)
