It is time to workout when and where we should get together at the RTDA. I know there are plenty of Herfs planned and I don't want to split the group as many of us are members of other boards. Let's see if there is any one event where the majority of us will be and join forces?

Any ideas welcome :-)

Sunday works best for SmokinLightning and myself.

I haven't seen any formal Herfs organized to completion at the other 2 forums I lurk at. There have been suggestions, but nothing formally saying this is the date, time and place.

The suggestions I have seen on other boards have been for Monday and later. I could be wrong, I'm sure someone will let me know if I am. :-D

If it is not on Sunday night, SL and myself won't be able to make it. :-(

Sunday night is best for me. All of the RTDA parties (CAO, Altadis, etc.) are going on later in the week. Actually, General is having a party Sunday night, but I'm not too hot on going. I wish I knew Vegas better so that I could recommend a place, but I just don't. Even if the herf is later in the week, I'll make this one...kind of takes priority for me.:-P

My plans so far are Casa Fuentes on Sunday early afternoon and Del Friscos Sunday night, Monday is CF's herf in late afternoon.

Let's do it Sunday night 8:30 pm.

Now for a consensus on the location :-) Put forward your ideas.

As a Vegas resident Sunday night is a tough night to reserve a spot for a large group. Unless you are booking a private room at a restaurant it can be a crap shoot.

Casino bars charge you up the ass for drinks.

I would suggest a place like the Brew Pub at Monte Carlo or Blondies at the Alladin. Both are big enough to handle large groups and won't break your wallet.

It's still 50/50 whether or not I'll be in town that week, but if I am I will be more than happy to get El Presidente into the Rehab pool party at Hard Rock Sunday afternoon. There are usually 1000+ girls in string bikinis.:-P

I've heard good things about the Brewpub at the Monte Carlo. I believe there is also a cigar bar at Paris. I'll do some checking and see what I can find out.

Here is a bit of information:

Napoleon’s

This casual cigar bar in Paris is a great place to sip on top-shelf whiskey and enjoy a fine cigar. Call 702-946-7000 for more information.

Monte Carlo Pub and Brewery

A band plays every night in this upbeat and lively nightclub. Call 702-730-7777 for more information

I'll continue to research. Found another:

Hamiltons Cigar Bar & Martini Lounge

Just like George Hamilton's home

3790 Las Vegas Blvd South, Las Vegas, NV, 89109

1 702 740 6400

And my final attempt (off the strip):

Chicago Brewing Company

2201 S Fort Apache Rd

Las Vegas, 89117

Telephone: 001 702 254 3333

Nowhere near Chicago we know but then Vegas reinvents the world. Huge space with a brewery, gaming machines, dining room plus cocktail bar and cigar bar, it’s as authentic as a 1930s Chicago in the desert can be. Enjoy home-style food, fresh brewed beer and slick night-club cocktails served with genuine Mid West hospitality. An offer we feel you can’t refuse.

I live around the corner from Chicago Brew Pub. It's ok, but 10 miles from the strip so unless you have your own car you will need a cab. It is easy to find though. You just take Sahara west and you run right into the place.

2 weeks and counting, never been to Vegas so I can't recommend one place over another. I've set a side late Sunday for a place to be named later. Looking forward to meeting the Prez and First Lady along with a few other board members. :-D

Let's do it:

8:30 PM Monte Carlo Pub and Brewery (Monte Carlo Casino)

Meet at the bar (where else  ) Sunday night (16th).

Lisa and I look forward to catching up!

Also..this is an open Herf. If you have any cigar loving mates...bring them along.

(If this joint is not cigar friendly...advise me ;-) )

I just called them and they said that cigars are welcome. :-) Sounds like a plan.

Aloha all...newbie here. Just found this place and seems like a fun place. FYI on the brew pub...there is a cigar shop right next to it. Prices are typical of the strip but might be cool to pick up a stick or a flavored one if a friend or wife wants one. Another place to think about in the Monte Carlo besides the brew pub is Andres. It is located right next to the entrance facing the strip (not the main entrance on the side street). It is one of those fancy french places. However, if you go upstairs there is a old school cigar lounge. quiet, comfortable chairs and couches, wood paneling, small bar, fire place. Can hold about 15 people. If it is too crowded, there is alos Houdinis lounge facing the gaming floor. Not that there is anything wrong with the brew pub (cool place BTW) but if there is a band playing you will have to yell just to talk to your friends.

Ill be in town too. Already know SPUD2 from his travels to the islands. Looking forward to hooking up with him.
