Lorax429 Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 » Lorax429... » » ... so you score/cut the cigar like you would score/cut the foil on a wine » bottle? Interesting. I will have to try this method. I've only been doing it that way for a couple weeks now. It has worked great for me so far. 56Tweed was the one who told me about it. He's been using that method for a long time and he swears by it.
tacmedic Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 I have used that same method after hearing of it from another board a while back...to me there was no real advantage over a normal cut that I make with my xikar....I do like to mix it up occassionally and use a punch, but only on cc's....
patrick Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 I use a Xikar multi-tool. It works like a charm, and I get a lot of compliments with it. It comes in really handy when I want to smoke a cigar down to the nub and I use the little stick attachment so I do not burn myself.
SeanGAR Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I usually use either a cheap havana cigar cutter or a Laguiole pocket knife. I have used Pailo and Xikars and don't see the point as the HCC produces a much better cut, and is much cheaper. The pocket knife allows me to alter the size of the hole ... I usually cut much bigger than any punch I have seen.
bgoodz Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I use either a punch or my Xikar but I seem to like the punch better. Where can a Palio be found nowdays? Lorax........as was said before, that's and interesting method and I think I'll try that. Thanks for the information.
