El Presidente Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I went through a box of these in Havana and they were the perfect early morning cigar. 5 inches x 37 Ring Guage.....look like a thinner version of the Petit Corona. Light on body...almost a Juan Lopez quality to them but with a milk caramel profile which accompanied the copious Pina Colada's very very well. I shared a few with Hamlet Paredes (who when I offered it to him at 6am thought I was ***) BUT HE NUBBED IT. Not always the prettiest stick, can have a soft spot or two...but the flavour profile is consistent as was the burn. These were young cigars (NOV 05) but when they do become available over the coming months I will lay some down. I don't believe there is a better yard or fishing smoke anywhere. 88/100 1
Tampa1257 Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 » Light on body...almost a Juan Lopez quality to them but with a milk » caramel profile which accompanied the copious Pina Colada's very very Rob, I am currently working my way through a box of 02's and the Caramel flavors do certainly become more pronounced the older they become. One thing about them is they need to be smoked slowly in my opinion so the do not become hot, which at least for me they lose the flavor due to being hot, but when smoked slow, they are divine!
El Presidente Posted March 9, 2006 Author Posted March 9, 2006 Agreed Chuck. I smoked slowly ....because I had nothing else to do except look over the water and take in the vista of the Morro Castle :-D
greenpimp Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Mine are from 02 as well, and Tampa is right again. Caramel flavor, real delicious but need to be smoked slow or they're toast. Great to hear the new batches are good ElP.
genevapics Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 » Light on body...almost a Juan Lopez quality to them but with a milk » caramel profile Would you say the profile is lighter in body than the PLPC's?
habanohal Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Prez... are you saying that you smoked slowly because you werent cathching any fish, and all you had to do then was looking at water?? LOL
Taino Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 ...fishermen know a cigar is almost as good as a fish...;-)
SuperT Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 And I quote, "I offered it to him at 6am thought I was ***) BUT HE NUBBED IT."

Great review Rob & spot on follow up Tampa The 02's are very good IMHO but have to stop smoking them so I can enjoy them even more later (as always...should have picked up more)
The Privateer Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Thanks for the great review...looks like a keeper!

GoatLocker Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Sounds great, but where the heck are those PLPC's? ;-) Are these still a short filler cigar?
bgoodz Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 » Sounds great, but where the heck are those PLPC's? ;-) » » Are these still a short filler cigar? Ditto...........I'm trying my best to wait on those:lookaround:
