cigardawg Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 OK, keeping with my trend of gathering information (and starting discussions) about different vitolas (or groups of vitolas), I have questions about londales. Specifically, I guess I am interested in the Cervantes vitola, measuring 6 1/2 x 42. I have and have smoked the Partagas Lonsdale (01), the Bolivar Lonsdale (01), and the H Upmann Lonsdale (00). I have enjoyed all of them and find myself really drawn to the vitola. Was wondering if there were others that I should be on the lookout for. Some thoughts are: El Rey Del Mundo Lonsdale Montecristo No. 1 Rafael Gonzalez Lonsdale Romeo y Julieta Cedros de Luxe No. 1 Saint Luis Rey Lonsdale Sancho Panza Molinos Vega Robaina Clasicos Thanks in advance for your thoughts.:-)
Van55 Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Bolivar Gold Medal? At just 1/8 of in inch shorter, how about these Coronas Grandes: Cohiba Siglo III Quai D'Orsay Grand Corona Hoyo des Diex.... These are all exceptional smokes and worth a try.

I've never smoked the Boli GM. Looking foward to the new release. As for the others, I have smoked all but the Cohiba Sig III. Enjoyed the QdO...love the des Dieux.

If you can find the SLR Lons it is worth the pickup. I agree with the Le Hoyo DD and the Sig III as go to "lonsdales".
The Privateer Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 The RG Lonsdales are wonderful, elegant smokes, but somehow they seem to be rather hard to come by. Any particular reason why? The Le Hoyo des Dieux are also fantastic. I've been developing a liking for Sancho Panza Molinos as well...love that salty-grassy flavour!
PigFish Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 I am rather fond of the Diplo 1 which El Pres will have now and again. The Lonsdale is in fact one of my favorite cigars and you can't go wrong with any on the list. I am really fond of the Upmann. Next would have to be the Partagas. Just scored another cab from the First Lady; by far one of my favorites as well. I have not had a Sancho Panza as of late... perhaps I will smoke one tomorrow! If you can find the Party Seleccion Privada those are wonderful cigars. If my memory serves me they may well be dalia and not a cervantes however.

Tried to smoke a Bolivar Lonsdale tonight that was utterly plugged. » » If you can find the Party Seleccion Privada those are wonderful cigars. Yep, the Seleccion Privada is probably my favorite dalia, though the Partagas de Partagas I had this evening was fantastic.
sleeper Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Saint Luis Rey Lonsdale. Monte #1, Diplo #1 and Vegas Robaina Clasicos are nice Lonnies as well.

harwellplant Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 i don't do much in the lonsdale vitola. one notable box i do have, however, is a dress of bolivar lonsdales from jun 00, i believe. i think rob may have listed some comperable of these available lately, if i am not mistaken.
