genevapics Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Wow, we got dumped on! Here in Delaware, we must have gotten 13-15 inches of the white stuff. Yes, it's beautiful, but it is a lot of work to shovel. I better wake up the significant other and get her out here to shovel. Me, I think I'll crank up the old snowblower and hit the driveway! It's going to be a fun day getting this mess cleaned up. Oh well, it could have been worse... this storm could have hit us next weekend! Let's hear from some others living up and down the I95 corridor! NYC, Philly, Baltimore and Washington time to check in and give us an update. Enjoy the day folks!
tubaman Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Second worst storm in history since this has been recorded. Almost done here in suburban NYC, I'm going out soon to tackle the snow with my Toro!!!!

DocRKS Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 » Second worst storm in history since this has been recorded. Almost done » here in suburban NYC, I'm going out soon to tackle the snow with my » Toro!!!! All done here - our TWO new HONDA Snow Eaters (on tank treads no less - no wheels on these babies) just disposed of 23+ inches on a driveway measuring over 1/10th of a mile in no time --what beautifully engineered machines these are.. Now onto a well deserved Siglo III.... Having my wife and I play duelling snow blowers while watching all this snow being thrown 30 feet was kind of neat ---but having said that - I'm ready to put them away till next year - don't want to test that "too much of a good thing" axiom.... BTW - Greetings Bro. Kevin - nice to 'hear' fropm you again.......:-)
Loki Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 I just finished shoveling out. I'm in Somerset Co. New Jersey and I'd have to say we picked up a good 18" of snow. It's hard to tell with all the drifting snow. I woke up at 5 am and the storm was really cranking up, near white-out conditions with 25-30 mph. gusts. So much for the weather report of 6-12"s. I just enjoyed a BBF with a big cup of joe, outside of course shoot'in the $hit with my neighbors. The FOH contingent is in for a big surprise.:-D
Elric Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 We're buried here on Long Islan. The blower is just about dead...time to go back outside and finish this "old school!"
Jimmy2 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 My back is killing me !!!! One good thing it will be over 50 degrees on Wensday bye bye snow....
piranha Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 We have over a foot of snow right now and more is on the way. Time to start up the snow blower.:-D
Tampa1257 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Sounds like good cigar smoking weather to me, maybe Lisa will have a few extra orders to fill because of this mild winter you guys are experiencing.............:-D
Jimmy2 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 I smoked a Montecristo Edmundo while shoveling it was pretty tasty. Next round of shoveling will be a Cohiba Robo...
cfheater Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Still snowing here in NH. We got about 12" I think as it's windy and the snow is blowing around. Looks like we may end up with 18". I just flew in from FLA. last night what a slap in the face this is!
Roy R. Frush Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Still coming down in Manhattan. The snow is defying gravity as I type--it's floating up and sideways. It looks like we got about a foot of accumulation.
n2advnture Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Already started melting down here. Wish I would have waited on shoveling! LOL! ~M
patrick Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Man, this was suppose to stop around noon. It's still coming down! I am going to have to go out and clean the car off again.
Roy R. Frush Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Amazing! National Weather Service reported that we got 26.9" in Central Park!
argon345 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Just finished up here on LI. Been doing a bit of shoveling, but I will let nature do the rest for me on Wednesday when it warms up!! So far I’ve enjoyed two Punch Robustos (From two different boxes), a CoRo, and I'm thinking about an Eminencia next :-D . Off to clean off the bosses car....Man I could use a snow blower!!!

I wish we had snow, I am 24 and can honestly say the closest we have in Brisbane is when you get a good hail storm and it looks like snow! I have never been to the snow, so would love to see it, many people tell me though that once you live in it you hate it, is that true? Ross....
JMH Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 I absolutely love to ski, but I could not imagine living in a place where it snows in the winter. I hate the cold, but I don't notice it or care about it when I'm skiing. I think it's bad enough when I have to wake up to 10°C and having to go to work etc let alone waking up to minus something.
Freefallguy Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Ross... only 10-12" here... and my kids loved every tiny friggin' little flake... but when you are a cigar chompin' curmudgeon nearing 50, you just plain hate the white stuff.
Bluesky Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 There are times when I miss the snow...and then most of the time I don't...right now 36 outside here in Jacksonville and dropping..but no snow Mike
Ginseng Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 » Wow, we got dumped on! Here in Delaware, we must have gotten 13-15 inches » of the white stuff. Geneva, Where were you located in DE again? Must be up there by WIlmington. I'm down here midstate in Newark and we only got 10 inches. My parents, who live in NYC, got 27 inches. The winter scene was lovely though. Having spent most of my life in New England, I was really starting to miss the snowy wonderland. Well, this is enough for me. :-D We had a ton of fun playing in the stuff though. My girl just turned 3 and this is her first genuine romping session in the white stuff. Here's the snow-dog we made. Don't as me why the dog head is on a human-ish body :-P Wilkey
El Rushbo Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I got about a foot here in SE Baltimore...shoveled, came in and fired up a Sig I...great way to end the evening.

I did this "Old School" too, Mike!! Must have been 24+ inches! Me, a Liter of bottled water and RA 8-9-8(given by Dean-smokozuna) My wife says that she notices me get all giddy at the sign of a coming snowstorm. She doesnt know its a good reason to smoke cigars during shovelling and salting of the driveway.
genevapics Posted February 14, 2006 Author Posted February 14, 2006 Great pictures man. I'm over here in Glasgow... over by the Kohls! We will need to get together when the weather breaks.
strayvector Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Can someone please explain the concept of snow to me? Daytime temps here in Tucson, AZ has not dropped below 60 this winter.
