Popular Post eaglebear29 Posted April 15 Popular Post Posted April 15 H. Upmann Herman’s Batch Chocolate umami on the cold draw I’ve had this Corona Gorda resting for 2 years -Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano -Binder: Dominican -Filler: Dominican and Nicaraguan (Condego & Esteli) Initial Light Up: Delicious rich dark chocolate and forest floor. Amazing amounts of flavorful smoke. Rich dark hot chocolate on the retro. Medium in strength. Easy 93 so far. Plus the ash also holding as the weather rapidly changes back and forth from hail to rain then shine with 20-30mph gusts on the beach. It’s smoking faster than I’d like but the flavors aren’t getting hot. End of First 3rd: The dark chocolate has gotten more rich. The forest floor is almost completely gone. Incredibly smooth for how rich it is. Still rich dark hot chocolate on the retro now more smooth with hints of forest floor ever so often. Medium to medium+ in strength. End of Second 3rd: Amazing more creme coming into play, with that hint of strong vanilla extract I’m so fond of in some rich chocolate tortes. I can’t stop licking my lips. So rich and smooth. Medium+ in strength. End of Final 3rd: Chocolate torte in full swing. Occasional little cookie note in there. Medium+ to just a touch under full in strength. Nub/Pipe-worthy: A slight ammonia crept in then left but the wind and hail at the end made it difficult with the pipe and I suspect that hastened up the running and hotness as I smoke way slower than this. That’s ok, no nubber or pipe today, I’m satisfied. Final Thoughts: Phenomenal cigar. This Herman’s batch along with the Banker DayTrader last year was amazing. I regret only getting a single. I’ll have to get a box, possibly 2. A great day to be out and about, the birds were out in the thousands. Eagles and ravens constantly making noise above and all around letting you know the herring eggs are about on the beaches and spring is in the air. Very lively walk, listening to the branches break in the wind and the birds soaring about. Beautiful day. Time: 1 hr 26 min in the sunshine and windy rain/hail. Score: 95/100 12
BrightonCorgi Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Out of the Cuban namesake NC's, Upmann does a great job. Partagas ran the roost in the 80's and 90's. Not sure if Upman NC's were around back then. 1

Yeah when I got into this not long ago, at the beginning I liked the H.Upmann Camaroon Vintage. Seems like such a cedar bomb now though if you’re into that sorta thing. Not really a favorite anymore. All the others have been great. Herman’s batch was awesome, Banker DayTrader. Now I would like to try the Bankers Arbitrage and Ingot Arbitrage. What others would you recommend?
