Popular Post David8406 Posted Monday at 09:52 PM Popular Post Posted Monday at 09:52 PM Favorite movie of all time. and why? Mine is easy…. Shawshank Redemption. The story has a fantastic arc to it. Great beginning, middle and end. The pace is spot on. Casting is perfect and the score is just a beautiful thing. The duality between Red and Andy…a story of perseverance and friendship. Andy: “Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” Red: “Hope is a dangerous thing, Hope can drive a man insane.” 6
mikejh Posted Monday at 10:26 PM Posted Monday at 10:26 PM Memento, although its been awhile since I've seen it. I love how Nolan structured it, and all the layers of it you can dissect. 3
riderpride Posted Monday at 10:46 PM Posted Monday at 10:46 PM In The Name of The Father, no doubt about it. Based on the true story of the Guildford Four - innocent people convicted of terrorism by a Government out to find a scapegoat no matter the cost. Powerful story, phenomenal acting and directing. You're sucked in by the first 10 seconds. Cheers 3
Popular Post Lucas Buck Posted Monday at 11:04 PM Popular Post Posted Monday at 11:04 PM My Name is Nobody (1973) - Henry Fonda,Terence Hill. Brilliant score by my favorite composer Ennio Morricone and directed by the equally brilliant Sergio Leone (Uncredited but yeah, he directed) - quirky, hilarious, beautiful western which for my money is a quasi parody of Leone’s Man With No Name trilogy of spaghetti westerns. It’s sweet, sentimental, goofy and just fires on all cylinders. Fell in love with it as a young lad stumbling across it channel surfing and not a year goes by I don’t watch it at least a few times. 8

Popular Post MoeFOH Posted Monday at 11:28 PM Popular Post Posted Monday at 11:28 PM Pulp Fiction. A game changer at the time and still remains one of the very few films, for me, that pulled-off basically the perfect meld of knockout script, casting, performances and direction. I didn't see it at the cinemas on release but have since, however, I remember after watching it for the first time at home immediately putting it back on and watching it again. Very rare occurrence. 15
Popular Post Hammer Smokin' Posted Monday at 11:54 PM Popular Post Posted Monday at 11:54 PM For the longest time, my favourite movie was Dr Strangelove. In my mind, it's the perfect movie. Then I finally watched Lawrence of Arabia. In fact, when I finished it I was so blown away I watched it again. Since, every movie I've watch gets compared to Lawrence of Arabia. (Rightly or wrongly.) Sometimes I think I shouldn't have watched it. Once I saw what good filmmaking can be, I absolutely began to hate CGI. Now I can't watch a CGI movie without comparing it to the desert scenes in Lawrence of Arabia. I actually liked Dune and Dune II more prior to watching Lawrence of Arabia. After I was like "really, dune, that's all you could do?" Ymmv. 9
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted Monday at 11:58 PM Popular Post Posted Monday at 11:58 PM The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. For many of the reasons others selected their favorites. The music, the dialogue, the characters, the casting, the out of sync English voice overs, I love it all. 11 1

So much to love all round. 1

Popular Post Havanaaddict Posted Tuesday at 12:27 AM Popular Post Posted Tuesday at 12:27 AM Pulp Fiction for sure I am big Quentin Tarantino fan, also love Reservoir Dogs! Another one that is off most people‘s radar would be Fear and loathing in Las Vegas! 5
Hammer Smokin' Posted Tuesday at 12:36 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:36 AM Dr Strangelove is more accurate than ever! 2

I’m a bit embarrassed to saw that I have never seen Lawrence of Arabia but your comment has put it right at the top of my to-watch list.
Hammer Smokin' Posted Tuesday at 01:51 AM Posted Tuesday at 01:51 AM I'm a huge Kubrick fan. Dr Stangelove, The Shining, and Barry Lyndon were favorites (2001 was cool, but not in the same league). But Lawrence of Arabia was stunning. Watch the Directors Cut, and plan for an evening. It's 3.5 hours (plus), including an intermission. Watch it on the biggest, best TV you can. It's astounding. 2
Fuzz Posted Tuesday at 03:03 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:03 AM When I was a kid my favourite film was "Battle Beyond the Stars". Might have something to do with Sybil Danning as a space Valkyrie... 1
El Presidente Posted Tuesday at 03:28 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:28 AM I love all the Terrence Hill Bud Spencer movies. Takes me back to my pre-teens and going to the movies with my dad on a Sunday So many great movies. For comedy. I never get bored with: 3 1

I also quite like The Great Race and if given a chance Heaven's Gate is a good watch. 2

Surprised and glad to see it here, love that movie ! I guess my favourite movie of all time would be "Once upon a time in the West", every d*mn thing about this movie is near perfect. (Still in love with Claudia Cardinale 😍) 4 1
JohnS Posted Tuesday at 06:02 AM Posted Tuesday at 06:02 AM 2001: A Space Odyssey. Like Lawrence of Arabia, you need to see it on the big screen in its original 70mm format. Digitally speaking, that equates to somewhere in the vicinity of 8k (maybe even up to 10k). 4
Çnote Posted Tuesday at 07:28 AM Posted Tuesday at 07:28 AM Lots of favorites already mentioned, so let's add Tinker Tailor Solider Spy & Dr. Zhivago 3

Popular Post TheDonTX Posted Tuesday at 09:19 AM Popular Post Posted Tuesday at 09:19 AM This list has some great ones but to say something unsaid: The Dark Knight. I watch it at least once a year. The action, the story, the acting and the cinematography make it one for the ages. An impactful movie watched every year around xmas: It's a Wonderful life. The way you feel after watching it at that time of year… is something special. 5
