This was a cigar deck Friday discussion...and it wasn't about premature ejaculation ;)

That CC you bought (or NC) ...what was a 94/95 + experience...that led you to a box buy.

But..,but!...no matter how many others of the same cigar you have tried...you have never experienced the same utility.

 ...I think many of us have been there.

The Ramon Allones Extra (2011). Grabbed a fiver here, a fiver there. Loved them upon initial release. So I then grabbed 3 boxes. After a few years, sold two boxes off. Slowly sampled the last "best" box I had. Gave up on it too and sold the remaining 12 about 5/6 years ago. Since then, I have never given up on a cigar.

Partagas D4 for me. Singles were always spectacular and boxes well below expectations 🤷‍♂️

Ditto. Received one in the last blind tasting contest that was 94-95. Every one I've owned and smoked 89-91. Even the 2016 box I'm working through. They've always been ok-good, never a repeat of that one great one.

Epi 2 for me. Had an out of this world, amazing experience about five years ago. 95+ points. Have been chasing that sweet cream and graham cracker taste since. Have had some really good ones but never quite up to that standard.

I hate to say it and I will take my punishment from the Cuban Cigar Gods. An Opus X Perfecxion No2. Would have to be in my top 3 cigars ever. In fact it comes to mind first when asked about the best cigars I have smoked. Imported a few and a few more. And I was handed what I fully deserve. One shit stick after another.  I have one left from 2009. A truly amazing cigar, definitely a one shot wonder.

PSD4 for me also. Had one which was admittedly ancient and just out of this world (80’s) and every one since has been ho hum at best. I’m thinking I won’t really enjoy one with less than 30 years age or the blend changed significantly since the 80’s.

HdM Epi 2. I had a single and it was a dream - baking spice/doughnut , and interesting from start to finish. 95 points. I bought a 50 cab and a 25 pk., and both have been so boring.
