Popular Post El Presidente Posted April 3 Popular Post Posted April 3 I think the Tube looks very cool. Not sure how the cigar would feel in the hand but I look forward to giving it a try. "According to Plasencia, giving the cigar six sides optimizes the cigar’s surface area while maintaining compactness, resulting in better combustion and airflow." CONTINUED 8 1
mikejh Posted April 3 Posted April 3 My brother just had one of these last night, not the tubo, just the regular cigar. It's one of his favorite cigars, I wish they had something in this line with a smaller ring gauge. It seems to me Plasencia is such high quality that construction and burn aren't much of an issue anyway.

Stevieboy Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I've had a fair few of these and they are top, top quality. I really rate them. Unusual packaging too. Love the new tubo version...Nifty! 4
unaslob Posted April 3 Posted April 3 A lot of their sticks have been getting some rave reviews. Going to have to check them out. They will have a tent at our next big smoke event at our box.
Phil-B Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Interesting to see how this is just hitting you guys here now, we've had these in the EU for a long while, there is also a black coloured version (Sixto II?), the hexagonal shape works well enough! 1

The black one is also excellent. To be honest, I haven't had a bad Plasencia. To think I'd never have tried them if it hadn't been for the Cigarmageddon price hike. 2
pohlmad Posted April 4 Posted April 4 It looks like I’m in the minority but these aren’t in my wheelhouse. I agree good quality construction, just not my flavor profile! 1

I cannot get enough of that stick. 1

Plasencia really are one of my favourite New Worlds, they're all superb, maybe the Alma del Fuego (red box/band) is the least popular, at least here in the UK/EU. We were getting them for under £100 ($200 AUSD), the Hexagonal Sixto I and II (Sixto I are green and Sixto II are the black ones), were slightly higher in price, but all of last year you could pick up 11 box of quality Plasencia for under £1k. The Salamones are superb (Black again). Just a lot of cigar in one go!

If I'm holding the Sixto on the z axis with the label facing up on the y axis, I hold my cutter so the cut will be going along the x axis. 1

If you line the cutter aperture up perfectly with the Sixto, one side (as opposed to one corner) of the aperture must line up with the label, ie. if the label is facing up, when viewed from the front (or back) the cutter cannot be at true vertical. I suppose that's ok for folks who surrender to chaos.

Somehow this price statement by you makes me vomit in my mouth a little bit…Guess we really don’t know how good pricing of tobacco is here in The States. Whew, even looking at these here at 25 bucks ea., I’m scratching my head. All perspective I suppose. DANG.

nKostyan Posted Wednesday at 02:25 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:25 PM This cigar needs a tube, because when stored in a box, it tends to lose its shape and become rounded.
