benfica_77 Posted Friday at 09:21 PM Posted Friday at 09:21 PM I try my best to keep my cigar inventory spreadsheet updated when I smoke something but invariably I forget. So twice a year I do an audit and update accordingly. Once in the spring (March) before my smoking season starts and once mid summer (July). Not only do I have a better idea of what I have but also helps me strategize on my next purchase(s). How often do you audit your cigar inventory? Are you ever surprised? Sometimes I surprise myself and I've smoked more than I thought. 4
Popular Post MrBirdman Posted Friday at 09:59 PM Popular Post Posted Friday at 09:59 PM I’ve been planning to do one next spring for about three years. I think I might actually get to it in 2025 . I have cursory review here or there to correct my printed inventory. I used to keep it updated on a regular basis - every time a box was finished or added the list was updated. Once the list hit three pages I realized I had too many cigars so instead of not buying anymore I stopped adding to the list. 2 4
Wookie Posted Friday at 10:30 PM Posted Friday at 10:30 PM I keep a spreadsheet of everything I’ve bought over the years, but only so I know whether it actually got delivered. I’m not neurotic enough to count what I smoke, but maybe I should be. 😂I’ve also come to grips with Stockholm syndrome and am buying CCs again after two decades of low cost CCs in my country. They are only going to get more expensive. And any decent NC is actually less expensive than a CC today…and they are getting really good.
mikejh Posted Friday at 10:51 PM Posted Friday at 10:51 PM I don’t have that many, but I recently started using the My Humidor app and that works great. I added all my current inventory so it’s pretty easy to update as I smoke
Chibearsv Posted Friday at 11:02 PM Posted Friday at 11:02 PM I just updated my ledger for full CC boxes. I scratch them from the book if I open the box. I only need to redo the list once every 2 or 3 years since I’m not buying rapidly anymore and I’m pretty diligent about removing them. I really only keep track so I can easily see what I have to trade when the mood hits me. 1

Chas.Alpha Posted Friday at 11:26 PM Posted Friday at 11:26 PM I only update (scratch) an entry if I fall below 10 sticks in a box. Maybe twice a year. 1

JohnS Posted Saturday at 12:35 AM Posted Saturday at 12:35 AM How often to I audit my inventory? Every time I smoke a cigar. Cuban Cigar Website has an easy and efficient Collection Management feature. I update my collection as I go along and acquire cigars (obviously like many of us, that's much less often than what it used to be) and when I smoke a cigar I can easily see how much of each cigar I have left in my inventory. 2 2
Lucas Buck Posted Saturday at 04:04 AM Posted Saturday at 04:04 AM I think it’s been 20 years since I took inventory. 3
Popular Post Fuzz Posted Saturday at 05:54 AM Popular Post Posted Saturday at 05:54 AM Audit? I prefer to be surprised by what I find. 8
Popular Post LordAnubis Posted Saturday at 06:16 AM Popular Post Posted Saturday at 06:16 AM Audit never. I have all my collection photographed and entered into CCW collection feature. That took a while to sort out but now I just keep track of what I have smoked. My only problem is sometimes finding the particular box in my humidor if it’s not on the designated shelf it should be. 5
Li Bai Posted Saturday at 06:16 AM Posted Saturday at 06:16 AM I don't need to, I keep it updated in my mind. I didn't count but I must have around 40/45 boxes and I know what's left in each and every one of them. 3
Stevieboy Posted Saturday at 08:02 AM Posted Saturday at 08:02 AM I use the CigarGeeks app to keep an eye on things. I only smoke 5 or 6 cigars at the weekend so it's fairly easy to keep track.
SirVantes Posted Saturday at 08:23 AM Posted Saturday at 08:23 AM I never have to audit my cigars. My spreadsheet is 100% updated, and shows every box/stick bought/smoked, box code, invoice value, tax paid. The 3 spreadsheets labelled "Habanos", "Vino" and "Drams" are the most organised things in my life. 3

I've taken pictures of the cigar collection for a date/time reference, but that's it. I don't see much value in it. Keeping constant entries to a database takes from the casual enjoyment of having a cigar or bottle of wine. 4
Blazer Posted Saturday at 01:03 PM Posted Saturday at 01:03 PM I've never audited my cigars. I have a spreadsheet of what I bought, where, when, how many and how much I paid that I use to know what to smoke first, but I never update inventory. I do have an app for my wine cellar and once a year I go in and do an audit and always find 3-4 bottles my wife took out and failed to mention to me! 1 1
Ciscojohansson Posted Saturday at 03:25 PM Posted Saturday at 03:25 PM I have a speadsheet but a complicated move and going crazy in the run-up to cigarmageddon.... and its chaos. Earlier this week I started logging boxes again and updating the spreadsheet, a lot of work.

Lol. 1

I'm sure you're right and to be frank, I'm looking forward to the day my collection becomes too big for me to remember it so easily 😉 1 1
Havanaaddict Posted Saturday at 05:33 PM Posted Saturday at 05:33 PM I have tried once but since I used to smoke 4 cigars a night (now down to 2) that works out to a box a week and I try to not smoke the same cigar in a week. I would be working on it all the time! 😳 3
Cigarsmoker81 Posted Saturday at 05:47 PM Posted Saturday at 05:47 PM Did it once in 2022 and not again. I need to do it soon. I haven’t been buying many boxes since then (for obvious reasons) but I need to do it again soon.

Boxer31 Posted Saturday at 07:40 PM Posted Saturday at 07:40 PM Stopped keeping track about 4 yrs ago. 2
