Popular Post El Presidente Posted March 26 Popular Post Posted March 26 Which CC cigars from 23/24 are as good as any in the last 25 years. That is only since 2000 people I think 23/24 quality and tobacco across the board has been very good. However Upmann 2 from 23/24 doesn't quite meet the superb 2014. There are others however that are at the peak of their game in 23/24......as good as any produced in the past 25 years/since 2000. Give a shout out to those cigars you believe make the mark. 6
Hammer Smokin' Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Following this closely. I recall all the talk on here that the 2019-2021 was the best crop(s) in decade(s). I haven't heard much about the recent crops. 3
pohlmad Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I’ve only been in the game seriously since 2018, so it likely disqualifies my opinion, or at least gives it an asterisk. In my opinion the RA Gigantes, HUpmann Mag 54, and Punch Short de Punch are performing at their peak.
gormag38 Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Haven't had the chance to actually smoke any yet, but I picked up a fiver of EL 2024 CoRo. Feel like I had heard some around these parts say they were really good recently. 1
Lucas Buck Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I’ve been smoking more freshies lately and many of them have been superb. Especially Cohibas. The Ambars & Esplendidos have been especially good. 3
Popular Post BrightonCorgi Posted March 26 Popular Post Posted March 26 The first two that come to mind. Juan Lopez No. 2 Upmann No. 2 6
Popular Post JohnS Posted Wednesday at 08:26 PM Popular Post Posted Wednesday at 08:26 PM The one that come immediately to mind for me are the Partagas Serie D No.4, Punch Punch and H.Upmann No.2. 8
MagicalBikeRide Posted Wednesday at 08:59 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:59 PM I’m shy of the 20 years (2011), but the D4 I’ve had recently are some of the most enjoyable and memorable I’ve ever smoked 2

You’re as qualified as the rest of us to offer opinion on the PSdP so - it was only released in 2019 / 2020 I think.
SMELTZ Posted Wednesday at 09:10 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:10 PM H. Upmman MAG 54, RASS and Partagas D4 all from 2024. So good, I am going through my boxes faster than I would like. 2
rascalmonkey Posted Wednesday at 10:11 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:11 PM Yes, my fine old chappies these have been the glory days Everything pretty much has improved, especially when you compare with the situation when I started ca. 2005. You had to wait 3 yrs before they were smokable. +++ Keep in mind if they were great what you had is what you had. You couldn't time travel back 3 years + stock up on something. 1
Chas.Alpha Posted Wednesday at 11:01 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:01 PM The Bolivar line has been outstanding since 2019. New sticks seem to be following along. 🤔 2

I can get behind the D4. I smoked one a couple weeks ago that I’ve been saving from a Feb 2018 box. It’s the second oldest smoke in my collection. I was expecting it to blow my socks off, but I found it underwhelming. I decided to dip into a couple from a Nov 2023 box and found those to be much more enjoyable. Maybe I psyched myself out or maybe I just like younger cigars, but the 2023 D4s are great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Hoepssa Posted Wednesday at 11:32 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:32 PM Modern items taste well when young, but lacking some complexity when aging. For me JL2, D4 are benefit from current seeds, they taste good when young, saving my time to stock/age. 2
Popular Post El Presidente Posted Thursday at 01:07 AM Author Popular Post Posted Thursday at 01:07 AM In terms of 2023/2024 production, the 5 cigars that spring immediately to mind as cigars that are as good as produced at any time since 2000 are: Partagas SD4 HDM Epi 2 Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill (launched 2010) Bolivar Royal Corona Ramon Allones Specially Select. 9

Agree with this list, especially the BRC out of UBL in 23. They've been very thin in the ground lately, though. Would love to pick up another box. Heaven for me is a good BRC and a Guinness. 1
Popular Post joeypots Posted Thursday at 05:11 PM Popular Post Posted Thursday at 05:11 PM I haven’t smoked a lot of young cigars recently but the PSD4 has been a no brainer for years. It’s about as dependable as cigar as I’ve ever had from Cuba and my most recent box looks incredible. I can’t have too many Punch Punch or PSD4s in the house. Interesting that 4 of 5 of Rob's picks are Robustos, not my favorite vitals but I’ll gravitate towards anything that smoking well. 5

The blend has changed from 20+ years ago, but not the enjoyment or consistent quality. Never had a crappy box of Juan Lopez and they've held their price point too. 2
rascalmonkey Posted Saturday at 05:00 PM Posted Saturday at 05:00 PM What's the consensus on the 2024 batch of SLR Regios? They're sitting on retailers' shelves longer than expected + anyone tried them yet?
Capn_Jackson Posted Saturday at 06:48 PM Posted Saturday at 06:48 PM JL2’s and, honestly, BBF. BPC has been smoking nicely young, too.
Wlu1988 Posted Sunday at 05:02 PM Posted Sunday at 05:02 PM I agree with the JL2 and RASS and will fervently add the H Upmann Mag 50 for consideration!
