Popular Post WillieGingrichEsq Posted March 19 Popular Post Posted March 19 To celebrate my birthday, I decided to smoke one of the oldest cigars in my collection. Decided the Party was appropriate. It came out of a Seleccion Robustos I picked up a little while back, and I've heard a lot of negative things about those boxes/packs--"all cedar," "one-dimensional", etc. Perhaps those reviews set me up for lower expectations, but I was blown away. One of the best cigars I've ever smoked. I tasted the cedar, but it definitely wasn't overpowering--I like to think storing it outside its original box helped with that. Regardless, best choice I could've made. Really excited to try the rest down the line. 7 2
David8406 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 We all have our biases or pre-conceived notions on how much are going to like or dislike a cigar based on what we read, what someone said. Maybe our last time having one. But the very best thing is to be completely incorrect and surprised by how much you are enjoying it. Then for me, the hunt is ON! Happy Birthday! I sometimes think I enjoy the hunt for the cigar more than smoking it! Gotta be close. 1
cybermadhatter Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Nice. The SVF box code from 2005 was/is phenomenal. Some of the best Bolivar Royal Coronas I ever had was SVF Jun 05. Cheers
