Interesting tidbit on wood finishes

I saw this clip from this kooky woodworker and immediately thought about humidors. This guy is saying that wood is breathable even through finishes such as epoxy and that a wood's moisture content goes up 1% per every 5% humidity. The only thing that finishes will do effectively is change the rate of absorption.
