Mr. Japan Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Long shot...this week I will be in Cape Town. Any advice? Wine, Touring, Cigar Shops and Lounges?
LordAnubis Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Cigars. Best place to smoke is Taj hotel cigar lounge. The city is generally quite smoking friendly at outdoor places anyway. But the Taj is fantastic. It’s been about 7 years though since I was last there so who knows? 1 2
LordAnubis Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Well bad news. Taj lounge is no longer open. The current recommendations are: One and Only at the Waterfront, in the outside area adjacent to the hotel lounge. Bascule Bar at the Cape Grace. Both at the Waterfront. Both absolutely beautiful settings for late afternoon or evening smokes. Wind is generally not too hectic either. BYO smokes. 1
ShaazK Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Wine farms will blow your mind. Delaire Graff, some in Constantia, Stellenbosch etc. too many to name but all excellent and great wines. Try to go to Babylonstoren if you can. Restaurants: La Colombe is compulsory. FYN, Potluck Club and Chef’s Warehouse are all winners too. If you’re a petrolhead go to the Franschhoek Motor Museum. Insane private collection. If you fly though Johannesburg their duty free often has some nice stock Edit: obviously no need to say, but do NOT buy Cohiba anywhere other than Duty Free. Take your own stock strongly advised. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
