Popular Post SirVantes Posted February 17 Popular Post Posted February 17 A favourite cartoon when I growing up was a Goofy short called A Knight for A Day. One of the characters was called Sir Cumference - that's him as my avatar. My favourite vitola is the Lonsdale, and as every good FOHer knows, a Cervantes is a Lonsdale. I am also proud to take credit for @MoeFOH changing his handle from back when he was @moegreen 4 3

Popular Post Li Bai Posted February 17 Popular Post Posted February 17 Mine is pretty self-explanatory, I'm a big admirer of Li Bai (aka the Immortal Poet, aka the Wine Immortal and many more), one of the most influential poets of Ancient China. 6 3

In my early days of exploring the internet, say 2006 ish, I came across this absolute odd ball of a video - “magical bike ride” is just a phrase that has stuck with me. The video still makes me laugh (for many reasons). Major double rainbow vibes:
Popular Post LaoFan Posted February 17 Popular Post Posted February 17 I had a Taiwanese girlfriend who gave me the Chinese name: 范明禹 (Fan Ming Yu). From the 成语 (idiom) 鲧禹治水. Yu (禹 ) left his family to serve the people during the flood. I served a mormon mission when I was 20 and didn't see my family for the entirety (not sure it's the same thing 😅but the name stuck). Lao is common in China referring to elders / boss. My staff all calls me LaoFan. Kept it for all socials. Except for my fantasy football league where I went with 超级爽 (ChaoJi Shuang). Google it if you want... (NSFW). 8
El Presidente Posted February 17 Posted February 17 So obnoxious. Grandstanding at it's best. Still, it helps make censures/ bans stick with minimal argument. 1 2
Gonzo- Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Nickname…based off last name. Pretty deep intellectual stuff. 😂 4
havanaclub Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Been to Cuba many many times and enjoy their rum and cigars. Thought the handle was fitting. Also used it on other cigar forums. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4
Popular Post MrBirdman Posted Monday at 01:44 PM Popular Post Posted Monday at 01:44 PM My first job out of college was teaching middle school in the Bronx. Since I rather naively just told the students my last name on the first day rather than writing it on the board or putting a sign on my door, many students went through much of the year thinking my name was “Mr. Birdman” - and it sounded similar enough with their Bronx accents that I was never the wiser. One day Jefferson, a student in 7th grade, wrote (on his own initiative) an apology letter for getting “tight” (angry) at me in class. Given the sincerity of the letter, I immediately knew its salutation “Dear Mr. Birdman” wasn’t a joke - he genuinely thought that was my name. Upon asking other students, I quickly learned most thought I was Mr. Birdman. I later told a teacher I knew with a similar last name and he had exactly the same issue. But I’d largely forgotten about this by 2020. Then while running for public office, COVID hit and campaigns went online. During one event, we got Zoom bombed by some middle schoolers who, upon seeing my name, began calling me “Brett Birdman.” I joined FOH a month or two later. FOH is, among other benefits, a place of learning, so I suppose it’s fitting. 4 2

I hear them tell me how tight they are or how brick it is outside at least 10x per week. 1
SMELTZ Posted Monday at 03:03 PM Posted Monday at 03:03 PM Mine has to do with my last name and a 2-stroke motor racing business I had long ago. My wife hates my last name and my handle. 1

People are so easily confused when your Christian name is West. Plenty of stories 😎🌴 Funny, once I wondered if your handle was a possible great gatsby reference - "west egg" but thought better of it when I read it more carefully 😚💨

Havanaaddict Posted Monday at 06:21 PM Posted Monday at 06:21 PM I have had this handle since the mid-90's. 1
JohnS Posted Monday at 08:08 PM Posted Monday at 08:08 PM I believe the origin of my FoH Handle is self-evident. First name and first letter of my surname, exactly like @westg. Similarly, @Ken Gargett's handle needs no explanation but he came up with it a long time ago (maybe twenty years ago when the forum was in its infancy) and having a 'handle' separate from your name wasn't anywhere near as prevalent as it is nowadays, maybe excepting if you were a 'gamer'. Similarly, I believe @El Presidente's forum handle requires no explanation other than to add that El Jefe could have been an option for him too. But hey, Presidente is one step up from that. 3

Lfhard Posted Monday at 08:19 PM Posted Monday at 08:19 PM Well nothing too special about mine. It’s just my first and middle initial followed by my last name. 2
Popular Post Goldeneye Posted Monday at 09:34 PM Popular Post Posted Monday at 09:34 PM Goldeneyes are my favorite duck for lots of reasons. One of the main reasons is that they are one of the first birds to return in the spring and will show up as soon as open water appears, signalling the end of winter and the start of spring. Bit of a bird geek, but I love watching the mating ritual of Goldeneyes with a cup of coffee on a beautiful spring morning. One of nature's truly beautiful sights. 6
Nocoins Posted Monday at 10:05 PM Posted Monday at 10:05 PM I was pretty annoyed with coins and wanted them all to vanish on the day I signed up with FOH. 2
MickVanWinkle Posted Tuesday at 02:27 AM Posted Tuesday at 02:27 AM Once upon a time my name was Mike. My wife corrals me in public using Mick, as it’s less common and easier to get my attention. Apparently I’m no longer Mike, but now named Mick. A few Van Winkles enhanced my life - my make dog’s formal middle name is Van Winkle. 3
