Lived in Excelsior, Minnesota for 3 years. It's hard for most to understand exactly how cold it is until you have experienced it.

February is always the worst month of winter for some reason. Its like winter wants to end with a bang.

I don't think many Minnesotans would agree with you that winter ends with February. In Minnesota, they celebrate Cinco de Mayo as the last snowfall of the season.

My home town. It was vastly different back then. The trendiest shop was Hance Hardware. There were no traffic lights.😳

Great place. The Minnetonka area as a whole is one of the nicest places in the world (8 months out of the year).

8 months? October 15- April 1: Frozen wasteland. April 2- May 10: Melting snow, soggy with the scent of all the fish that didn’t survive the winter rotting on the shore. May 11- June 30: Lovely, very pleasant. Mid 70’s/ early 80’s. July 1- August 30: Oppressively hot, mosquitoes dominate the land and air. September 1- October 14: Fall! My favorite time of year!!! October 15- … 😔

We got snow May 21st in Denver not too long ago. We don't usually get snow until late December, sometimes January. We had some in October this year but it quickly went back to 60 degrees. February we get bitter cold snow storms. If it snows in February we know temps are dropping and ice will be everywhere.

Back in mid 90s I lived up in Conifer/Evergreen area. I recall getting about 6 inches on June 9th, my birthday.

You're right. The Oppressively Hot feature is an added bonus.

I'm just West of Chicago. Right now it's 10 degrees out. Have 2 space heaters pointed at my chair every day for my smoking. I'm waiting till this weather breaks.
